Quarterbacks worth trading up for

Exactly. College teams use different systems and have smaller, slower defensive players.

Alabama is one team. How many top five teams did JM shred?

Again, it doesn't mean he'll be able to do what he's been doing at the NFL level.  It's about more than stats.  Especially with a prospect like Manziel.  I'd throw his stats out the door to be honest.  His style of play is what is going to doom him at the NFL level.  I see almost no way his body holds up if he plays that way and I don't see him having the abilities to change to a more conventional passer.  That's not what type of player he is.

Quote:Who did Blaine play against? Cause it sure wasn't SEC teams..

Tebow's stats in his sophomore year in the SEC:
234/350 3286 yards 9.4 YPA 32 touchdowns, 6 interceptions

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Against SEC defenses as well.. Give me this guy as a QB

Damn sure doesn't look like a project to me..

The SEC wasn't a good defensive conference at all this year. LSU was down due to draft attrition, Georgia and Florida were ravaged by injuries... only Alabama fielded a great unit.

Sorry, not going to sway my thinking and opinion.. Still, give me a QB who faced REAL defenses and was productive against them..

Tebow was a different kind of quarterback - similar to Braxton Miller.

So now Manziel is Tebow 2.0?

So you think Manziel is the only quarterback who was productive against real defenses?

No, Braxton Miller is Tebow 2.

I'm just showing that stats against the SEC aren't everything.

Look at his individual game against LSU.  That game shows signs that he's not cut out to be a pocket passer in the NFL.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

What about Manziel's wreckless play style (and small frame) make you think he'll be able to do that against NFL sized defensive players?  He's been blessed with guys like Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews on his line, too.  He may not be so lucky depending on where he goes at the next level.

He only had Luke Joeckel one season.

I'll pass on a 'low risk' qb in the first round. Mediocrity is a dangerous thing.

I know this, what's your point?

If the choice is Manziel or no QB (which it's not) I'd be perfectly comfortable with Caldwell taking no QB in the draft.

Look, I'm not trying to be rude, I just completely disagree.. Gotta love that freedom of speech.. I think you're nuts..

You, I had no idea about.. You're teetering on the edge of being nuts..

It looked to me like the comment implied Manziel had Joeckel all three years.
