Quarterbacks worth trading up for

Quote:This means almost nothing, if not nothing at all, about his abilities as an NFL QB. Exactly. College teams use different systems and have smaller, slower defensive players. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:I know, but the Big 12 was almost as good as the SEC those three years.????
Quote:Anyone who can SHRED an Alabama defense like he has, I'll take as a QB.. Alabama is one team. How many top five teams did JM shred? Quote:Anyone who can SHRED an Alabama defense like he has, I'll take as a QB.. Again, it doesn't mean he'll be able to do what he's been doing at the NFL level. It's about more than stats. Especially with a prospect like Manziel. I'd throw his stats out the door to be honest. His style of play is what is going to doom him at the NFL level. I see almost no way his body holds up if he plays that way and I don't see him having the abilities to change to a more conventional passer. That's not what type of player he is.
Quote:Who did Blaine play against? Cause it sure wasn't SEC teams.. Tebow's stats in his sophomore year in the SEC: 234/350 3286 yards 9.4 YPA 32 touchdowns, 6 interceptions
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Quote:270 comp, 391 attempts, 3732 yards passing, 33 TD's 13 INT's with a 170.4 passer rating.. The SEC wasn't a good defensive conference at all this year. LSU was down due to draft attrition, Georgia and Florida were ravaged by injuries... only Alabama fielded a great unit.

Quote:Tebow's stats in his sophomore year in the SEC: Tebow was a different kind of quarterback - similar to Braxton Miller.

Quote:Sorry, not going to sway my thinking and opinion.. Still, give me a QB who faced REAL defenses and was productive against them.. So you think Manziel is the only quarterback who was productive against real defenses?
Where was the sign that stated "tin foil hats required" before I came into this thread?!?

Quote:So now Manziel is Tebow 2.0? I'm just showing that stats against the SEC aren't everything. Look at his individual game against LSU. That game shows signs that he's not cut out to be a pocket passer in the NFL.

What about Manziel's wreckless play style (and small frame) make you think he'll be able to do that against NFL sized defensive players? He's been blessed with guys like Luke Joeckel and Jake Matthews on his line, too. He may not be so lucky depending on where he goes at the next level.

I'll pass on a 'low risk' qb in the first round. Mediocrity is a dangerous thing.

Quote:Tebow's stats in his sophomore year in the SEC:You, I had no idea about.. You're teetering on the edge of being nuts.. Quote:Tebow was a different kind of quarterback - similar to Braxton Miller.You.. Where do I begin..
Quote:I know this, what's your point? It looked to me like the comment implied Manziel had Joeckel all three years. |
