Bowl game matchups
|
OK, so it is virtually guaranteed Auburn will be FSU's opponent at the last BCS NCG. We are even more certian Michigan State and Stanford will meet in the Rose Bowl 5 days earlier. Where does that leave Ohio State and Alabama?
Here are the projections for all of the bowl games: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000...-ten-final Does any of this surprise you? What I found interesting is the fact that some schools have already accepted bids. We will know tomorrow who is going where. We show less advertisements to registered users. Well Alabama will take the SEC's spot in the Sugar Bowl. Clemson will take the ACC's spot in the Orange Bowl. And Baylor will take the Big12's spot in the Fiesta Bowl.
Everyone keeps saying that UCF is going to the Fiesta since Fiesta picks last and the others wont want little ole UCF. Part of me thinks that UCF would be a good fit for the Orange Bowl since theyll probably sell a lot of tickets. However its a tv ratings game and nobody will want to watch Clemson-UCF. Poor Orange Bowl used to be an amazing bowl game with awesome matchups but the last 5-7 years have seen some bad games. Wake Forest, Kansas, Cincy, Iowa/GaTech, Northern Illinois. Oklahoma seems to be the trendy pick now as the at-large team for the Sugar Bowl. I'd rather see Bama and Oregon in the Sugar Bowl. We've been waiting for years to seem those two play. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff.
Why should Alabama play in the Sugar Bowl insteasd of Missouri? I think if the SEC champion goes to the NCG, the SEC CG loser should play in the Sugar Bowl. But that's just my opinion.
Of course, I understand Alabama is better than Missouri and one second away from going to Atlanta. It just would make more sense to have a SEC CG loser requirement IMO. But that's just my opinion.Because the media loves Alabama, and Mizzou is a fresh face in the SEC. The same logic that places Bama, who didn't get to play in a CCG, ranked 3rd for some reason.
Quote:Because the media loves Alabama, and Mizzou is a fresh face in the SEC. They should be behind our Buckeyes, who did play in the conference championshp game. I always hated Top 25 polls. As do I. How does 1 loss in a CCG against the #1 defense constitute a drop from 2 to 6 or 7,depending on the poll. Quote:Why should Alabama play in the Sugar Bowl insteasd of Missouri? Well if the 2nd place team in one division was clearly better than the winner of the other division, then Im sure you'd hear arguing that the title game loser shouldnt automatically get the bid. It goes both ways. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. Draft philosophy is all fluff.

It goes both ways. This is the biggest reason the NFL is better than college football (among other things). The only time we argued about who should play at home in the playoffs was when Seattle won the NFCW with a 7-9 record. I do agree with putting Clemson instead of Duke in the Orange Bowl. Fun fact: if tOSU beats Clemson to win the Orange Bowl, we will have won every BCS bowl since its inception in 1998. The only team to do so. A fitting way to end the era, if not with a NCG appearance We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! If Bama and OSU played at a neutral site odds are pretty good that Bama would destroy them. Bama is not as good as they have been in past years but they'd wipe the floor with OSU and I'm a clear B1G supporter. Bama is a much better and much more talented team.
I'll probably go the little ceasar's bowl no matter who plays in it it's been a while since I've been to a live football game and it's only a 15 minute drive for me.
osu above 'Bama or Mizzou.......that is laughable! osu was exposed as a team with a great record against bad teams......very very average when they were forced to play a top 10 team!!

Do you mean the only team to win the Fiesta, Sugar, Orange, and Rose bowls? Yeah, that is true, but not if you include the BCS NCG. There's that word again.
Quote:Not including the NCG, yes. Though we did win it in 2002, but I was too young to remember if it was played for in a NCG The 2003 game (for the 2002 season) was the Fiesta Bowl. That year, it was also the BCS NCG. It was later with a fifth game was added to be the national championship. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:There's that word again. I don't know why you keep denying it. Can you not see it? Ohio State has proven all year they're soft and have no defense. They have been exposed plenty of times. Since we won the fiesta bowl in '04 and '06 I'm going to count it as NCG since the fiesta bowl base is covered

We can see everything and are not denying anything. You are choosing not to believe us because you want to hate just to hate for no logical reason. There, I said it. Now I am done arguing with FSU fans who are unwilling to accept the truth when they see it. |
