Caldwell's biggest gamble

Quote:Wrong. A general manager can draft a quarterback every year if he wants to. Using your logic, Gene Smith would have been fired after the 2011 season for picking Blaine Gabbert.

No they have Gabbert a chance. Add Blackmon to the equation and smooth was shown the door.

I am saying Gene Smith was able to draft a QB in 2012 and simply chose not to. There is no rule a GM must wait two years to draft the next one.

Bortles came out early half-bald with a beer-gut looking like somebodies drunk uncle at Thanksgiving.

Surprised you weren't yelled at for such crazy talk; stirring...

Speaking of baby faces, Beachum, same thing, if not more so than Luke. I had to double check his age.

Success is a journey, not a destination. Go all out Mighty Jaguars.

Sadly, I think not.

Teddy-leg-humper I'm sure...

Doesn't think too highly of our guy either...

this from another thread (About Madden Ratings)...."1. Jaguars QB Blake Bortles (82 overall) over Giants QB Eli Manning (81 overall)

There’s just no explanation for this. Outside of scrambling, is there anything — ANYTHING — Bortles does better than Manning? Eli is has the higher Football IQ, just as good of an arm and better accuracy, on both short and deep throws. The Giants signal-caller is a borderline top-10 quarterback in the league. Bortles is just barely cracking the top-20. Again, there is no explanation for this one."

Quote:Last season at this time I tried making the point that these kids between 20-23 years old come out at very different places in their maturity and development physically.

For instance - Joeckel still looked like a baby faced kid in his third year just beginning to add real bulk, whereas Bortles came out early half-bald with a beer-gut looking like somebodies drunk uncle at Thanksgiving.

It IS possible that Joeckel is finally hitting his stride physically and can really get stronger now.

Just a thought.
HAHA!! Poor Blake. I think he's adorable, but he is the most mature looking 24 year old I've seen.
