So let's see which 12 games the Jaguars can win this season after Dave Caldwell makes the final cuts to 53 players.

^ Really?

The Jaguars are not going to have any easy games. They are not at that point yet, not at all. Competitive? Certainly. Expected to win vs an "easy" opponent? No,, IMO.

Jax has only beaten the Colts once out of the past how many tries? And, that was with "Old Man Hasselbeck" at QB.

Jax splits the series against the tacks every season. It's almost an annual guarantee that those two teams will split the series. And, the games are almost always very close (whether they be low scoring and dull like last season's Thursday night affair; or high scoring shootout and turnover mess like last year at Tenn).

And, oh yeah. The Ravens had a bad record last year. But, most of their losses were very, very close that could've easily been a Ravens win. Look no further than the game between Jax and Balt last year. That loss was the epitome of how the Ravens' season went last year.

It's pretty clear that we will not lose a divisional game...This right here gets us to 6-0.

CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

I wish I shared your optimism. I do to an extent and I like their chances to win several AFC S games, but I don't see 6-0 in the division or 12-4 overall. The negativity you saw this morning comes from the realization that our defense still needs plenty of work before they look anything like their expectations on paper. Our defense against the run in particular looks so bad, that I don't even like their chances against the Titans if they played right now. I still think they have a great shot at the division if the defense can get their act together in time, but I can see them finishing anywhere from 7-9 to 11-5.

I said we have relatively easy games and explained that means they are less difficult. Obviously you did not read every post.

She's right.

There's so much else to talk about that comes before even thinking about regular season.

You guys have it all bass ackwards.

I know I do.  I put the creamer in before the coffee this morning.  After that, I just couldn't stand to drink it.  Ruined.

"...relatively easy..."?

I understand precisely what you mean, but how do you figure? ...and relative to what?

Relative to last year, this year's schedule looks considerably tougher to me.

I already asked about the theory of relativity.  I'm still a little confused, but I think I'm learning.

And we most likely won't be playing against backup and 3rd string QBs.....

Honestly, and tell me if this makes me wierd, but for the past 2 years or so I've been putting the creamer in before the coffee. It's easier to measure how much creamer you put in, and it effectively stirs the coffee for you, eliminating the need to dirty up a spoon.

It's weird. Do you put milk in before the cereal too?

Last year Baltimore had a lot of injuries and sucked. This year is the same story - lots of injuries, especially at WR and TE. IIRC we host the Ravens in Week 3. Of course I don't wish injuries on anybody but it will help our defense if their injured players don't return in time for that game. We all know Ben Watson will not be there. Then there is a rookie starting at left tackle.

Green Bay OTOH got much better at WR and TE because Jordy Nelson is back. Last year his absence forced Mike McCarthy to shuffle receivers to unnatural positions. He also hired a new TE coach. Plus Eddie Lacy got himself back to his 2014 form, so relative to last year he will be much better. On defense, Clay Matthews is back outside like he should be.

What this means is Baltimore will be relatively easy compared to Green Bay.

I don't know about 12-4 but 10-6 we have a good chance at. We need to fix that left side of the OL fast before week 1 and start taking good angles to make tackles. We are improved but the same things are still a problem like penalties.

So you're not even talking about the overall schedule and just saying that some games will be easier than others this year. That has to be the ultimate "no duh" statement. Every team, every year, has some games that are easier than others. The sky is blue. Did you know that?

As for the Ravens, their team is starting to looked stacked in some areas, and their running game appears lethal to the likes of the run defense we just witnessed taking on the Bengals.

I never talked about the overall schedule. I clearly stated what stands out is the schedule between San Diego and Kansas City.

Even those games have their challenges. Del Rio's Raiders are going to give us all we can handle, the Ravens and Colts games are certainly no gimmes, and the even the games at the Bears and at the Titans will be tough on the road if our defense is playing much better than we've seen to date. An early game at the Titans with their running game as stout as it's been is no easy task.

Later in the season, we face this stretch... at the Bills, Broncos, Vikings, at the Texans.
