Quote:Hi,

I´m from Mexico City and I´ll be in Jax for the Ravens game. I want to know in which area would you recommend me to stay in Jax, to have a good location (to be near all the main atractions), also good hotels, restaurants and things to do during my stay. I will be there for aproximatly 5 days. I would really appreciate all the recomendations and opinions.

GO JAGS!!
Here's a thread about things to do around Jacksonville Beach.

https://jungle.jaguars.com/index.php?/to...cksonville

Also - there are a half dozen old threads on this topic in the Sideline if you search around for them - some have good advice.

If you spend time downtown - check out this:

http://theelbowjax.com/guide/

The south side is the most "central" and hotels near "town center shopping"  or "tinseltown" will have you near multiple  bars and restaurants.

I'd stay at the beaches at least 2 nights if I were you.  Sheraton/Four Points/ Courtyard Marriot are good locations for exploring the beach. Also One Ocean at the north end of the beaches is cool.

Quote:You lived on Townsend and went to Philips for a haircut? What you saved on the haircut, you spent on gas to get there...they aren't anywhere near each other! Lol

Maybe he just couldn't get exactly what he wanted on Townsend, or he had a 2 for 1 deal.

If you can get some pics of Lem Turner on the pig, you may be able to get some blackmail money.

My favorite part of the city is riverside. It is close to downtown and has many restaurants and bars to hang out at. Right by the St Johns river.

Quote:Huguenot Memorial Park, 10980 Heckscher Dr.

One of my fave spots in the area down there. Have beach fun under the sun on this peninsula of a beautiful beach. U can drive right on the sand and pull right up to the water. Can even do a bit of beach fishing and catch some whitings or drum. Nice spot for an afternoon.
I live off Hecksher drive but I'd still recommend south side near beaches but I really enjoy Hecksher drive too. Sand dollar is a pretty good seafood restaurant that over looks St. John's river.

Not sure if that means that you work the day shift and need the extra "exercise" or you work the night shift for extra bucks.
