Professors tell students: Drop class if you dispute man-made climate change
|
Quote:And not only are we going to not tolerate intellectual curiosity and debate, we're going to charge you $30,000 per semester to learn our crap. DEAL WITH IT.Why would you take that class knowing the topic? What would you be hoping to get out of it? Typically you take a class to learn. What would a climate change denier learn from this class? 30,000/semester. There are way better deals than that. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:I know. The nerve of somebody to be like "Hi, I have a question..." UGH, SHUT UP! GOD! You're fake outrage is so lame... Let me repeat what I said, from the article. I'll bold the important part: “By clearly stating the class focus,” he continued, “the faculty are allowing students to choose if they wish to enroll in the course or seek an alternative. Additionally, the faculty who are leading the course have offered to discuss it with students who have concerns or differing opinions.” Quote:You're fake outrage is so lame... I like that. Have the discussions behind closed doors so as not to confuse the others. Very smart.

Never having taken a medical humanities course, how likely would man made climate change be brought up in a Medical Humanities in the Digital Age course?
What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Quote:Never having taken a medical humanities course, how likely would man made climate change be brought up in a Medical Humanities in the Digital Age course? That's pretty much the focus of the indoctrination course from what I can tell. It seems that the focus of this course like so many college/university courses is to teach their version of the "correct answer" rather than allow free thinking and expression. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.
Quote:That's pretty much the focus of the <del>indoctrination</del> course from what I can tell. You speak of things you know nothing of... I hate it when the physics course teaches me the correct answer. Lol!!! Same with math and English 101!! This is a 300 level course, there's A lot of critical thinking that goes on in those level classes. However, every course has objectives and requirements. As I said earlier, you aren't gonna get very far trying to discuss evolution in religious studies course. But no, that's indoctrinating in your eyes, normal people would call it disruption. Tomato \ tomahtoe right?
Quote:You speak of things you know nothing of... I could care less if it's a grade school course or a "300 level" course. When you suppress free thought and ideas from students that question the "correct answer" or how it is derived it becomes indoctrination, not teaching/learning. The class is not a subject on the validity of man made global warming. If you are coming to discuss that, then you enrolled in the wrong class. You don't show up in English to discuss Alegbra. People just like to get mad just to get mad. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:They aren't suppressing free thought in the slightest! The class is not a subject on the validity of man made global warming. Yes they are. From what I gather, the class is supposed to discuss health concerns related to so-called "man-made global warming climate change". What if they are indoctrinating teaching a health risk associated with something that's not real? Is this a class teaching that a hypothesis is fact? A student isn't allowed to question how the "correct answer" is achieved? If a student questions the validity of the data used in the class they aren't allowed to discuss it? That's pretty much suppressing free thinking. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. Quote:Yes they are. The class syllabus is more than likely already past the discussion of fact. They have moved on to the next lesson. Do you bring up the civil war debate during the WW2 history class? Quote:How are trumpettes not understanding this?!?! We get it. You're just wrong. That's my opinion. Which is allowed here. These professor's however can't handle such debate or topics. They expect all their bullcrap to be accepted blindly without any critical thought. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:We get it. You're just wrong. Or they expect you to sign up for the right class.
I'm not sure the Trumpettes understand how university works...I'm sure we all know why...
Quote:Wrong again! You're comparing apples to oranges here. You're using an extreme example to justify the indoctrination. If the class deals with so-called "global warming climate change" then questioning any answers derived from possible false data should be discussed. The answer(s) would only be valid if global warming climate change was a FACT and not a hypothesis. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

And both terms have always been used? In fact if it had all just been made up by unscrupulous politicians, why would they change the term? We show less advertisements to registered users. Did any trumpette or jib download and read the syllabus???
Hint 2 weeks of the 17 weeks even discuss climate change and the discussion of the course is on the affect of the changing climate effects health outcomes. Lol Again it's a humanities class. You don't get to go to a religious studies class and start debating evolution. If you want to argue that find the appropriate class. Like you know... A SCIENCE CLASS!!!!
No I did not read that. You guys are really digging deep.
It's irrelevant. The professors' behavior and response to dissenting views is worthy of criticism no matter. Quote:Anyone still a smoking causes cancer denier? Or they all moved onto this cause? I've often wondered if I grew my own tobacco and smoked it would that still cause cancer? I think and this is just maybe ignorance on my part it's the chemicals in cigarettes that gives people cancer. |
