There is nothing mind boggling about not cutting your #2 QB when all you have left as a back up would be a 6th Rd rookie.

It's actually common sense which is something lacking by a few posters on this board.

Beachum, Sitton, Linder, Cann, and Parnell is playoff caliber. Then Joke goes to swing, and then we also got Shatley, Reed, and Wells with Bowanko on the PUP.

Quote:Wilson too.

I actually kind of expected that when Sample got hurt.  I didn't think he would have a problem beating out Evans.

Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17
2016 draft players I think will be good
  • On the Fournette train, will be best back of his class 3/6/17
  • Lattimore please,  Lockdowns on both sides would be nice
  • Engram at TE and the MJD clone Samaje Perine

The disparity between Henne and Allen is minimal. If Bortles is hurt, seasons over either way. This whole "Henne gives us a better chance" argument is lacking in evidence of such a claim.

0% chance we sign Sitton. Makes way too much sense.

It's not common sense when your #2 QB has been in the league for many years and has thrown more interceptions over his career than touchdowns and has looked particularly terrible in the preseason. Why keep him? I haven't heard a single, sensible reason. He's not reliable.

I don't think Dave won't try, and if Sitton wants to take a parting shot at the Packers it'll be a good opportunity for it considering we're playing against them next Sunday.

Quote:Thoughts: Based on how the league has reacted to the quarterback position in Dallas, Minnesota and Philadelphia, depth at the most important position is evident. Henne was going to be Bortles' backup regardless of the offseason, but Allen showed that he should stick around. Allen can continue to develop behind the veterans and learn how to take over for Henne in the long-term. The team clearly didn't want to risk Allen to waivers.

I get it. Unfortunately he's about par for the course for most NFL backups and Allen isn't ready yet. You'll get your wish, it will just be next year.

As usual, Dave and Gus will not make an obvious move and stand with what we have (so some trash with the Joke).

Brilliant conclusion.

How about they cut all three of the QBs and sign me to the roster. There is no evidence that any of them give us a better chance than me.

See how your stupid logic works?

So Caldwell lacks common sense now? He obviously thinks it's the smart thing to do to keep Henne around.

I'm sure he pales to your superior football knowledge.

I know Dave is smarter than me, I'm just giving my opinion.

Does Marshall have practice squad eligibility?

If they signed Sitton, they could move Joeckel to swing tackle and release Wells.
