Playoff Lineup Help
|
I could use some help deciding my lineup for my playoff game this week. I have some tough calls to make so here it goes. It's a non-PPR league.
Starters: QB Cam Newton WR T.Y. Hilton WR Kendall Wright RB Jamaal Charles RB LeSean McCoy TE Gronk W/R Le'Veon Bell Bench: WR Jordy Nelson WR Cecil Shorts RB Maurice Jones-Drew RB C.J. Spiller Having a bit of trouble with my WRs and my W/R spots. Jordy has disappeared since Rodgers' injury and I feel like the two I have as starters probably have the highest floor at the moment. Picking two out of those four is proving difficult. At the W/R spot, usually I wouldn't bat an eye at Bell, but with him coming back from a concussion, I'm afraid a tap to the head will send him out of the game - and leave me with the dreaded doughnut or something like 3 points. I think that would be pretty crippling considering the bench players I have available. The biggest obstacle is having to decide on Jones-Drew by this afternoon. But with his low yardage totals he's a little TD dependent, and really doesn't have huge upside compared to the other backs, although his floor is probably higher than Spiller's. Thoughts? It's a non-PPR league.A tough call but Jordy Nelson's only had one really bad game (Thanksgiving) with Rodgers out. He's still their home run hitter and Atlanta's defense isn't very good. I think he'll score some points this week, especially considering the fact that Rodgers has an outside shot at returning on Sunday. He's a game-time decision last I heard. In fact, I'd start Nelson over Hilton or Wright. Your RBs are money. I think MJD might not be a bad flex option but since it's not a PPR league, you're counting on yards and scoring solely. I see your dilemma there. I'd still play Maurice over Bell.

I too would go Nelson over Hilton this week. As far as rb....I'd stay away from spiller. I think I would lean toward bell, not by much though. Besides if you start mjd and he doesn't get a score you have to look at that all week long.
I too am thinking you go with Nelson especially since he's home vs a rather pathetic Falcons secondary. Only I'm thinking you start him over Kendall. TY has the potential for a huge day whereas Kendall likely gets the same 6 to 8 points he gets every week.

And despite huge days from both my running backs I got bounced. I got 5 points combined from Wright, Hilton, and Gronk. Ugh.

Why come on here and ask for advice if you're not going to take it? Everybody here said take Nelson and you didn't. Nelson had 4 catches for 85 yards. Hilton had 2 for 7 and Wright had 2 for 17. I always find that puzzling when people ask for advice then do what they want anyway despite getting advice saying to do the complete opposite. I think some people just want to hear what they want to hear.

I valued the advice given but asking for advice does not mean you automatically go with whatever the advice is. I'm not sure why anyone would think that way.
Kendall Wright had easily been outscoring Jordy Nelson post-Rodgers. I took the viewpoints given into consideration and made my choice. BTW, Nelson would not have won the game regardless.
Quote:Is it bad that I am seriously considering picking up Denard Robinson and starting him this week if MJD is out? Is there any other alternatives on waivers? What have you got on your bench? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I have Adrian Peterson, but he just got hurt and I have no idea if he is going to play this week. I have Stevan Ridley who of course got benched and barely plays now. And I also have Andre Ellington who either gets me 5 points or 15. I am trying to pick Gerhart or Todman, but I feel like Denard has a bigger upside and might break out if he gets the chance to play this weekend.
I'd probably go with Ellington myself. I think with Denard you'll be banking on a long run, or a Jedd Fisch trick play for any serious points with him.

As for our Jags RBs I am not convinced by either option for fantasy football purposes. Dernard could break out, but he really is a boom or bust play. Ellington has a good match up this week. He is handcuffed by Mendenhall, but Ellington still gets a decent amount of carries to get a solid(ish) amount of points and has boom potential. Ridley is tough to start, though with their injury woes (Gronk, Dobson, Thompkins), then perhaps the Pats might start to try to get more out of the running game to make up for it. --- My choices would be: 1st: Ellington and Gerhart/AP 2nd: Ellington and Ridley Quote:Is it bad that I am seriously considering picking up Denard Robinson and starting him this week if MJD is out? I don't know about Denard, but I have a feeling that Mike Brown is in for a huge day. Even if Shorts plays, which it looks like he won't, I suspect Cecil would basically be a decoy.
