Hi, Jaguars fans!   2015 NFC Conference Champion Carolina Panthers visit The City Of Denver play the Broncos in the rematch of Super Bowl 50. to officially start Week One of the 2016 NFL Regular Season, and on NBC Sports.  Broncos defeated the Panthers 24-10 in Super Bowl L at Levi's Stadium just seven months ago back on February 7, 2016.

 

Carolina is visiting Denver for a regular season game with the Broncos for the first time since 2004. Broncos and Panthers are meeting for only the fifth time during the regular season, and including Super Bowl 50, leads the all-time regualr season series 4 games to 1.  Panthers only win was a 30-10 victory at Bank Of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, back on December 14, 2008. 

 

Broncos QB Trevor Semien, who was the third-string QB last season behind Peyton Manning and Brock Ostweiler, will play his first career NFL regular season start tonight.  Denver also outscored Carolina 60-14 in the last two regular season meetings played in 2008 and 2012, and the Broncosalso  outscored the Panthers in the previous five meetings 124 points to 71 points.

 

Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth are announcing the live TV game commentary, along with sideline reporter and interviewer Michele Tafoya, for NBC's Thursday Night Football, including WTLV NBC Channel 12 in Jacksonville, FL, and live online  on and your devices on HD.

 

WFXJ The FOX 930AM will also broadcast the game locally through Westwood One/CBS Sports Radio, beginning at 8:00PM EST.

 

Sunny and clear skies at 86 degrees, is the game forecast inside Mile High Stadium, for the 8:30PM Eastern Standard Time kickoff, along with 0% precipitation, 11% humidity, and Eastern Winds at 7 miles per hour.

Go Broncos? What?


I assumed you were programmed correctly to recognize that an AFC win could not help us in the long run as that's potentially a competitor for a playoff spot.


Don't like either team, but as a Jag fan, the logical thing is to root Carolina.

Maybe 7-14 points, but I don't see a blowout coming.

 

People who think Denver will not be good this year because of their QB  situation were not paying attention the seven times Brock Osweiler started a game. Denver is a run-first team and can beat opponents such as Carolina with defense.

I just want the Panthers to expose some of Denver's weaknesses so that Blake can pick them apart later this season. Hopefully it will end in a tie.

  From a Jaguars standpoint,  a Panthers win tonight could potentially be the difference in the Jaguars getting into the playoffs or getting a higher seed in the playoffs.
