Gratz is not bad like people here claim. He's what you'd expect from a 3rd round corner. Solid, not going to win you a game or lose it for you. He's literally the guy you want in circumstances like this. Someone who knows the scheme and the defense inside out. I mean look at the Colts back-up corners then complain about Gratz.

Gratz looked promising his rookie year. He looked like he could be a solid starter long term. But he has regressed badly. Gus benched House and started Gratz for the Buffalo game last year and he got torched by Justin Hunter and a special teams player, almost costing us the game. Watch that 90 yd Mariota run against us last year and key in on #27 and tell me this guy is serviceable. He slips and falls all the time and gets beat in coverage. I don't know why he regressed so much, but the sad truth is he is nothing but a liability out there right now. Maybe he has righted the ship, we will see Sunday for sure. I hope he doesn't cost us the game.

Mccray too. Team has had a little back luck with WR and CB, you get guys with promising rookie/early years , then get hurt, do drugs suck, or all 3. See Derek Cox, Mccray, Sims Walker,Williams, Matt Jones, L.Robinson Gratz, etc.

I like to call Gratz "solid depth."  The problem that arises in this particular game is where to play him. The talking heads are saying he'll play the slot, and normally I'd be excited about Ramsey moving outside, but.... 

 

Antonio Gates and Danny Woodhead present massive challenges to the nickel DB tomorrow, and I'd feel better about House playing there and Gratz outside where the bolts are weaker at wide-out. 

 

Gratz did look better this pre-season than he did in regular season last year, so I'll keep my fingers crossed, but I'm concerned about those two wily vets abusing him and Cyprien on the underneath passes, screens, swings and wheel routes.

Yeah I'd be inclined to keep Gratz outside for this game, keep Ramsey on the better guys for this game
