FSU vs ....

Quote:I've been wanting him gone since the end of his first season as DC. He's soft, and the defense has taken on that mentality. Do you think if Pruitt had stayed FSU would have won the championship that last year with Winston? Since he's left, the defensive seems to always have communication issues and guys running wide open. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Do you think if Pruitt had stayed FSU would have won the championship that last year with Winston?I don't know if they would have won it, but I firmly believe they would not have been embarrassed in the Rose Bowl like they were if Pruitt was here. Now I know the offense imploded with turnovers, but our defense looked so confused (shocker) against Oregon. For some reason, Charles Kelly's defense is a react defense. They don't attack. Pruitt had this defense attacking. Pruitt disguised blitzes and half the time you never knew where they were coming from. Pruitt had this defense playing physical. This defense now is so soft. Kelly's blitzes are so predictable that our guys basically hold up a sign before the play saying I'm blitzing now. Charles Kelly is a defensive coordinator for a school like Georgia Tech (where he came from), or some PAC-12 school. He is in over his head here at FSU. We have four and five star players at every position, and they look like zero star players in games because he can't coach. If this was one or two blown coverages here and there, that's on the players. We've been seeing this for three years now. You can't really say it's the players anymore. I also think Jimbo needs to ditch this 4-2-5 or 3-3-5 or whatever scheme it is our defense runs. Having that many DBs on the field is just opening up running lanes for guys like Lamar Jackson like he had yesterday. I wish we'd go back to a base 4-3 or a 3-4 defense. We can't have DBs out there trying to set the edge. Now, Kelly is not all the problem. Jimbo needs to can Rick Trickett yesterday. One of the most overrated coaches in the country.
Man, fsu fans seem to be taking that embarrassment better than I anticipated. I'm going to assume it's because most fsu fans can't even count to 63, but either way what a hilarious loss.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Sometimes you just have to take your lumps and im ok with that. As long as those lumps don't come from uf or thug u..
Losing I could understand. 63 points? There is something wrong there. I think the biggest concern for FSU fans is the offensive line. I don't see how they are going to fix it. If they don't I could see 4 losses easy.

Giving up 63 and the biggest concern is the oLine? “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Would have been 84-10 if Louisville had left their starters in.

Quote:Louisville starters were pulled with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd qtr. Try again..

It's true FSU should have never lost like that but Louisville was clearly the better team that day. Louisville vs Clemson should be a lot of fun. FSU can still salvage the season by running the table. Quote:There's no shame in losing to a team better than you. I am certainly not sold on Bama this year. That Cardinals QB can make magic happen. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:Whatever helps you sleep at night. How have you been sleeping since that Tenn loss? ![]() Quote:How have you been sleeping since that Tenn loss? I've been sleeping fine. I'm not sitting here trying to make excuses for having the top completely blown off my team. I was discussing fsu, since we are in an fsu thread. That's how it's supposed to work. If you'd like my opinion on the gators, they played inexcusably bad on defense in the second half. That needs to be addressed immediately. Appleby actually played well in del rio's absence. The offense did what it needed to do for a win, the defense didn't. It was a bad loss but nothing like fsu getting shredded for 4 quarters.
