I remember when Gus Bradley was trying to "sell" us the defense he mentioned that the defense was simple and easy to understand. This allowed players to play fast without having complicated schemes. On paper that made sense, but I'm starting to think the reason the scheme is simple and easy to understand is so Gus Bradley can understand it.

They would be the ILBs in a 3-4. It would actually put both of them on the field and in better positions to use their speed and instincts all over the field. Having that type of speed in the middle of the field instead of one of them on one side of the field would be amazing.

Yea there is no reason Jack shouldnt be playing, it makes zero sense, you suppose to adjust your scheme to fit your players

 

We should be using Jack like how the Cards use Deone Bucannon, hybrid SS/ILB just get the guy on the field 

 

Also Fowler should be used more as a stand up pass rusher, he was great at that in college

Poz would be a bad fit as an ILB too. The only 3-4 fit of our LBs would be Skuta. I don't think we want to make a defensive switch to a defense that features LBs and with Skuta the only ideal fit.

Poz played his first 5 years in a 3-4 in buffalo. You may want to review the way a 3-4 looks and the players responsibilities. We practically play a 3-4. We could transition to it tomorrow and be a force

Paul was a MLB in college. I think the Bills were 4-3 his rookie year, then they switched to 3-4 after. When the Jags signed him, he cited the team's 4-3 defense as one of the reasons it appealed to him. He didn't want to be an ILB on a 3-4. MLB on 4-3 always has been his natural position.

 

This team does not have a 3-4 personnel. If we *did* make the switch, Telvin would be the odd-man out, which is nuts considering he's the least of the problems when it comes to our linebackers. Fowler can probably transition to OLB on a 3-4 (though coverage responsibilities will be a question mark), and as I said, Skuta would be the other fit at 3-4 OLB. It makes no sense to do this and take Telvin off the field.
