The Jaguars Have To Start Better. If We Can't Run We Don't Win
|
This team has only scored 5 points in the the first half in all 3 games combined. The defense scored 2 of those points so that gives the offense credit for 3 points in 6 quarters of football.
I believe this team has gotten whooped like 55-5 in the first half this year. It's putting the pressure on the QB and our QB's just flat out suck. Bottom line if the Jaguars don't establish a running game and take the pressure off the QB it's going to be this way all year. Gabbert nor Henne can carry any game on their shoulders. We know this interior line can't pass block or even run block for that matter. Something has got to give. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
I'll repost again:
The keys to beating the clots: 1) Hand the ball off until the RB's throw up 2) Keep Scobee within 59 yards of field goal range 3) Throw a quick slant to CS3 and let him do what he does best 4) Start "Mr Grinch" aka Jeremy Mincey at DE ^ we are guaranteed a win on Sunday.

Do not run behind Meester or Rackley.
Have Mojo spy the man Rackley's supposed to pass block. If he looks like he's getting free, chip him. After establishing the run, use some run action bootlegs to make the reads easier for YOLO.
Making up
Evidence Depending on Information Available Quote:I'll repost again: Sounds logical to me. I expect for both teams to rely heavily on running the ball. This game might only take two and a half hours.

At this point, any realistic fan would probably "give up" and hope for a top 5 pick. I know I did in '11. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
The OP is only partially right...
The Jags have to start better... correct They also have to middle better and The have to end better. (all football terms) The odds of seeing any of this happening any time soon is very low... The odds of all of them happening all in the same game is infinitesimal.
As Bradley seemed to indicate, Gabbert should think less and just start slinging it. Sure he'll throw some interceptions but maybe he'll get a TD or two along the way. It can't hurt, we're already losing by double digits every game.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

As much as i don't think it's possible, does anyone else really want to see MJD break off in one of his trademark "scampers" where he runs up the middle and somehow ends up in the opponents endzone 50+ yards later? it's been since week 3 of 2012 if i recall correctly.... it would really get me pumped

I agree with you completely, who cares if we turn it over a little. We need to take shots, and Gabbert actually has a much stronger arm than people give him credit for. If we break a long one, it will be Toddman. |
