He's quite good. Solid day two prospect with room to rise to the late 1st if everything breaks right.
Biggest problem with him is his absolute noodle of an arm.
They are really playing to his strength though by running a lot of short 5-10 yard routes where he can stay accurate.
TEST
I just started watching him now in this South Carolina game. The thing I noticed on him was his under pressure throws. He seems to stay calm and deliver the ball right where it needs to be. I'll definitely keep an eye on him for the game.

Quote:Biggest problem with him is his absolute noodle of an arm. He doesn't have a noodle of an arm. Still hope he stays because I'm selfish.
Quote:I've heard his arm strength described as "above average." If he has above average arm strength he doesn't show it. He lofts even short to intermediate passes.

Quote:That had plenty of zip. Short passes should ALWAYS have plenty of zip. Especially ~12 yarders that you through at the ground to protect the receiver.

Quote:I think he'll be a good NFL qb. But I still want a great one. Which is probably Bridgewater. I think Bortles can be successful in the NFL as long as he plays for a good team that can take advantage of his game manager skill set. He will be best off getting drafted by a team with a good vet starting so he can learn and take over. I wish I could put him on the Vikings right now.

This is my first opportunity to watch Bortles on TV and I have to say he does look good. He looks the part too.
He reminds me of a combination of Locker and Ponder. Both in a good and bad way.
