Why don't NFL coaches resign? Being from across the pond we see soccer coaches resigning when they're out of ideas and keep losing but it doesn't seem to happen in the NFL. It saves face and gives the guy a bit of dignity to walk away with.


Man up, admit you can't do the job and go back to being a DC somewhere.

I don't know much about Petrino but Saban made an excellent career move by doing this and you gotta respect him for that.

They do resign. We've hired the last two guys who have quit on their teams in Mullarkey and Doug Marrone.
