Denard Robinson

I meant NFL level football skills. He will be on the scrap heap with Tebow soon enough - luckily we only took a late round flyer on him.

He can't catch. He can't throw and hasn't shown any running back ability either. So what are his skills? He can't even return because his hands are so bad

So now people have to be Adrian Peterson to be considered skilled? Got it.

From today's press conference:

Oehser:  Do you think you guys will find a place for D Robinson moving forward?

Bradley:   Yes.  Yes, I do.  We really like his competitiveness. This year has been a challenging year for him - I think he's figuring out the running back spot.   This week he's really stepped up his focus.  I think he senses an opportunity this week if Mojo can't go.

There isn't a coach alive whose press conferences mean less than Bradley's (not an insult).

I could be starting QB on Sunday and he would talk about how hard working, focused and competitive I am.

There's some truth to that - but you can easily read between the lines in about 20% of his answers and see his meaning.   His zero hesitation response about Denard being around long-term was markedly different to how he's responded to similar questions about other players. As was his answer.

Quote:Any chance if MJD does not play this weekend, how many touches do you think D Rob will see? I want MJD to play, but I am curious to see the progress DR has made.

I have MJD on my fantasy team but I guess I have to swap him out because it appears likely that Mojo might not play, or if he does it might be limited but I expect Toddman would have the better day over any reps given to DR

Not sure why we bother using him...Ace and Todman can do everything he does much better.

You can't write a rookie off after on year. Patience pays dividends.

Sanders is the player I thought Robinson would be.

Then you didn't do your scouting. Denard Robinson cannot and could never catch a pass. He was never going to be what Ace Sanders is. His ceiling is a good change-of-pace back but 5th rounders don't usually reach their ceilings.

He has a WR jersey number.   Made me think wrong.  I gotta pay attention better.

Were it not for Ace, and Todman (in recent weeks and especially today), people would not be quite so fast to write off Robinson. His fumble problems are ridiculous when you look at the number of fumbles versus how few touches he's had, but its a different game. He's playing a different position. Being asked to do it differently than in the college game. And not all players click instantly. He'll learn. Hopefully. And if not? What did we really lose?

We haven't lost anything but a late round pick. But even if he sorts his fumbles out he will still never have good hands so his upside is somewhat limited to just being a fast guy who may break the odd decent gain

His fumble in the end zone was offensive....TO ME.

I truly don't know what we have him around for.

Because Jaguars is our mantra  Wallbash

I think he has a high chance of getting cut and not being on our opening day roster.

He will probably stay a Jaguar until training camp.  He has a LOT of work to do if he's going to earn some trust..  If we draft another RB (lets say Mojo doesn't return) - It might be all over for Denard.
