I've been one of Lee's harshest critic here, and while i'm still not convinced, I will say that there were several instances last game that I really appreciate his awareness. The one that stands out was the Blake's "throw" near the Colts goal line, which Lee did drop. But he had the presence of mind to slap the ball out of bounds in case the refs called it a fumble.

 

There was another play earlier (it might have been Blake's forward throw that ended on the ground). But if I recall, Lee jumped on the ball. To us watching, it was clear that his arm was forward. But to see Lee play to the whistle and not take the chance that the zebras are going to screw us over (like they usually do) is a good thing.

Speaking of Hurns coming out of games what happened when he was forced to miss a play in the second half?

 

He was a little bit slow to get up on the previous play, which was apparently enough for the medical staff to radio down to the Refs to have him looked at.

The number of snaps with Lee playing and not Hurns is very low. (about 16 plays in 4 games)

Plus - Hurns has literally been on the field MORE than Lee.

243 snaps to Lee's whopping 171.


That's not Olson stealing anything from Allen Hurns.

Many of the Jags analysts (Prisco and Boselli in particular) have commented on Lee being open downfield multiple times in the past few weeks and not being found for whatever reason.

Watching the tv replay, it looked like Blake had already thrown the ball before Lee got open. Since we don't have all22, its possible Blake had to throw the ball early due to pressure. But yes, an extra second of Blake holding it and Lee would have been open for a TD

Definitely. I can't remember the last time Hurns dropped a pass.

I'm excited to see what Lee can do the rest of the year. If Bortles can get his mojo back, having Lee healthy really rounds out a dynamic receiving corps.

Just for some perspective on Lee's drops.  He has 2 dropped passes in 24 targets this season. 

That's a low number.
