The biggrst knock I see on him is his frame is a little smaller/ lighter than I'd like to see in my starter - he's 6' 3" 200 -ish.

 

 

I like my starting QB to be 6'4"+ and 230+.

 

 

But yes, the point is this kind of stuff is all there really is negative when you are talking about Bridgewater....he's that good.

Also, Tom Brady was as unathletic as they come. He was a lanky, slow QB, without an elite arm.

I understand theres many QB that aren't that height/ weight, its just what I would prefer if I was able to build my perfect QB. I think a bigger, more solid QB can endure more hits/ be less injury prone than a smaller QB, thats all. 

 

By no means am I saying that a smaller QB can't be extremely successful. And as we've seen with Gabbert, theres no guarantee that a QB of that size will be less injury prone or play with more confidence than a smaller QB.

I disagree. 

 

Byron Leftwich was a statue in the pocket and couldn't escape the pass rush. Bridge has that trait that every QB other than a few which included Marino wish they had - that subtle pocket mobility/ instinct that is able to avoid the pass rush with football saavy and a few steps/ wiggles here & there. 

 

Actually everything about Leftwich's mechanics was slow. Slow thrower, slow runner. 

 

Bridgewater isn't slow in either.

Very similar. Teddy has better pocket mobility but other than that he's average at best. But how would you know otherwise, with the absolute lovefest that has infested this board after the beloved Gators got the beatdown from Bridge under the water.
