Quote:It was still targeting. I'm aware of that. It still doesn't compare to some of the cheap shots Francois took.

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???
Quote:It was still targeting. I didn't see the that play, but targeting really needs to get fixed. There have been some verrrrry bad targeting calls the past couple years. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Oops.

But, nonetheless, 7 in a row. No end in sight.
It is called football, your quarterback is going to get hit. People are so used to flags getting thrown every time a quarterback is touched tha tthey think everything should be roughing the quarterback now.

We're talking about the cheap shots the QB took. Try and keep up.
Rule changes have made the game completely different and people think there should be a flag on any big hit, or touching of the QB, WR gets touched, etc. Its ridiculous. QBs especially just need to wear skirts, or let them play with no pads. Just do not touch them at all.

Big John, it's amazing that your guy gets kicked out for targeting and its "hardly malicious", but the Miami guys don't get flagged and it's a cheap shot. Do you really think the refs were taking plays off and letting Miami tee off on your quarterback?

Do you really think the refs were taking plays off and letting Miami tee off on your quarterback? I never said the refs were "taking plays off." If you actually watched the game you would know what I was talking about. Matthew Thomas did get ejected, but his hit was hardly a dirty play just because he was called for targeting. Francois had a defensive tackle drive him into the ground with all of his weight well after he threw the ball and in another instance had one guy guy high and one guy go low on him. I guess neither of those deserved a flag though according to you. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

That targeting call wasn't a joke. It was clearly helmet to helmet.
The hit that he was talking about by the defensive tackle where he drove the quarterback into the ground wasn't dirty. It happened right after he threw the ball and is what happens during the game of football. The double standards displayed on this message board are hilarious. If these things were reversed we would be hearing a completely different story. Quote:That targeting call wasn't a joke. It was clearly helmet to helmet.Yeah, you're right. It wasn't a cheap shot. Who am I to argue with that? I guess you probably think him getting hit high and low at the same time wasn't cheap either.
Quote:Yeah, you're right. It wasn't a cheap shot. Who am I to argue with that?UCF knight has trouble seeing the calls because he's too busy looking at the uniform it's happening to. He has an axe to grind against FSU. The qb will get hit and not every shot was roughing....big John and I have just been stating there were some obvious roughing calls that were never flagged. Regardless of the team you pull for to say there were no missed calls on roughing is just silly. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Football has gotten soft, and in turn have made the fans think that any big hit, or touching of the QB warrants a flag.

I'm trying to figure out where its illegal for a qb to get hit high and low. Two guys meet at a qb at the same time and one guy is high and one is low, it happens.
Lets say Ngakoue and Fowler reach Andrew Luck at the same time and absolute crush him. Were they supposed to let up because they both got there? Another situation, lets say Malik Jackson gets to Ben Roethlisberger and is able to grab him and hold onto his ankle, but Ben wont go down. Ngakoue comes in and cleans him up. According to you that's now a cheap shot....or is that only to the FSU quarterbacks? I have an axe to grind, but your player throwing head shots isn't cheap, but everything Miami did was...ok, I have an axe to grind. Quote:I'm trying to figure out where its illegal for a qb to get hit high and low. Two guys meet at a qb at the same time and one guy is high and one is low, it happens.Christ, you are clueless. And your analogy doesn't even compare to the situation we are talking about. Francois got hit high and low by two defenders WELL AFTER he THREW the ball to his intended receiver. Tell me how that isn't dirty and shouldn't be flagged. This isn't like he was still holding on to the football. Even Kirk Herbstreit mentioned that it should have probably drawn a flag. This isn't rocket science. |
