I am pretty surprised there is no thread about Kirby smart and Georgia after that loss yesterday.


Notre Dame is sitting at 2-5 and no one is talking about their coach getting canned either...

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

He was bad yesterday but every QB has a game like that. It was his first game in three weeks. I would not be surprised if LDR shows a lot of improvement against Georgia.

What happened to Ohio State's run defense? What I saw during the first half should not be happening.

Wisconsin is a good team,, especially at home in Madison.


The Badgers have played:

LSU

Michigan State

Michigan

Ohio State


They beat two of them, and lost the other two by very tight, close games:


-They were tied with Michigan 7-7 in the 4th qtr at the "Big House"

-They went to OVERTIME with Ohio State in a hard fought, tight contest.


Wisconsin very much deserved to be ranked as high as they were (#8).

Now that the Badgers have two losses, they don't deserve to be #8 anymore and obviously will drop out of the Top 10.

You were talking about Wisconsin not being deserving of a rank that high in about 3 or posts of this thread.


Then you asked what happened to OSU's run defense. I responded to both by stating that Wisconsin is a much better team than what you were thinking. That's why they were ranked. And, that's why Ohio State struggled with them.


Anyway,

Regarding "Bye-bye Badgers":


Uh,, it is likely that Wisconsin could still win their side of the Big 10 conference. That would put them in the Big 10 Championship game.


It is very possible that OSU or Michigan will have to face Wisconsin again.


As close/good as both of those Wisconsin games were vs OSU and MICH, I would not automatically assume a win for either of those teams against the Badgers in a title game.


They may not be done yet.

That side of the conference is very tight. Only 2 games is separating them. It would not surprise me at all to see Wisconsin end up winning that side.

Wisconsin (4-2) plays Iowa (5-2) this week. Nebraska plays Purdue.


Nebraska plays @ Wisconsin in week 9. That game is gonna be huge for both schools.


Nebraska then plays @ Ohio State in week 10.


Do you think Nebraska is going to win both games @ Wisconsin and @ OSU in two consecutive weeks?

I could easily see Nebraska losing 2 or 3 games in their final stretch.

Oh, I completely agree with that. I am much more interested I the East with both Ohio State and Michigan.


When it comes to a Big 10 Championship game though, it kind of stinks that both OSU and MICH can't both be in it.


It is still possible that either one will have to face Wisconsin again. If Wisconsin makes it, they know they can play (and possibly win) against either of those teams in a rematch.


Nebraska, Iowa, and Wisconsin have a real race to the title game going on too.

I could point out flaws in GDR all day long and you'd ignore them. I am done talking about him, you're literally the only person on here that thinks he's "good" whereas the rest of us can tell he's garbage. 

 

If you're nothing more than a game manager in CFB, you're a hindrance to your team. GDR is just that. Period.

I was in Atlanta saturday at the wedding of a fellow Vandy alum.  I was giving her grief that she scheduled her wedding the same day we were playing only an hour away in Athens.  When Cunningham made that tackle on 4th down, the crowd at the wedding went nuts.  Good times.  

 

We should have a gimme against Tenn St next weekend which will put us 4-4.  Which includes losses that came down to the wire against Florida, SC, and Kentucky.  Could easily have won any of those.  But 4-4 is probably right for this team.  Anyways we've got a BYE after Tenn St.  And then the weekend after the bye we are at Auburn.  I'm sure I'll head over for that game.  I havent been to a game at Auburn since I saw them play Georgia the year they went undefeated but missed out on the national title game.  If you remember team had Jason Campbell, Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, etc....  They blew the Dawgs out.

 

Anyways honeymoon definitely over for Kirby Smart.  As usual they've got a lot of talent.  But I always feel like a new coach deserves a year or two at the least.

Their only two losses were close games against two top 3 teams. One of them on the road in a tough stadium to play in.

I definitely agree that he gets at least another season but I would keep it on a short leash if things don't improve this season.

You just don't want to understand what I said about him. I always said LDR would not be the starter if anybody else on the roster was better than him. There is no way you can twist that to mean I called him a good QB.
