smh @ some Jags fans who seemingly don't want the "best" at QB.

What are you talking about?

Quote:Do you even read bro? Nobody in this thread said draft him. I think everyone agrees Bridgewater is the clear #1. Chillax man.

Ok, as long as we understand that Bridgewater is the guy to draft and these [/b]other[/b] QB like the Bortles & Jaymes guy are just merely fodder and don't really compare...

I wouldn't mind an RG3/Cousins deal. Teddy in the 1st and Bortles in the 4th?

Bortles in an underclassman. I doubt he comes out unless he receives a very high grade from the draft advisory boad.

Right. I should've clarified, if he came out. It'd be in his (and UCF's) best interest to return. Especially with the qb crop this year. The hotel bar has double IPAs. Forgive the drunkness.

Quote:OOps, I actually forgot Manning was pre 20 years....he's just seems to have been playing forever...haha.

Obviously, I mean post Manning.

I think Bridgewater is a better prospect than the rest since Manning was drafted....better prospect than Ben & Aaron. Now, obviously doesn't necessarily mean he'll be better pro than those 2, - I think he will be at least as good, but as a prospect, I think Bridgewater is better now than where those 2 were at this point.

I dont know that I agree with that.  He wouldnt have been drafted ahead of Luck so by definition he wouldnt have been drafted ahead of RG3.... those two were basically 1 and 1a that year.  Im not sure Bridgewater would have gone ahead of Matt Ryan or Matt Stafford or Sam Bradford.  And Ill already counter your response... dont let what youve seen them do as NFL players cloud your judgement as to how they were viewed coming out of college.

I think Bridgewater would have gone ahead of Roethlisberger although that might be a good comparison since both played lower level competition in 1A so there is some question is to how they would have done in a full year in one of the big conferences.  Not sure Ben was as accurate, but he is so much bigger and was able to extend so many plays... just as he does now.  Bridgewater is so skinny and goes down very easy... which ironically could help him avoid injuries by not staying up and taking more shots.

I actually think Bridgewater kind of reminds me of Geno.  Both are really good natural throwers of a football.  Both played in an offense that spreads out a defense and throws a lot of shorter to intermediate passes.  Both of them would occasionally get a little wild on deeper throws. However I think Bridgewater throws better on the run than Geno.  And Im pretty confident he doesnt have the same bit of prima donna headcase in him that Geno shows from time to time.  Too bad Bridgewater doesnt consistently play against better competition though.

This is the first time Ive really had a chance to watch him in a full game and I dont think he will leave early.  I doubt he'll be given a grade high enough to warrant it.  I could see a team falling in love the way folks fell in love with Dalton.  However I also think Dalton had a slightly stronger arm than you would have guessed watching him at TCU where the offense was so horizontal.  Maybe Bortles is somewhat similar.

Bridge is a much better pocket thrower than both RGEETHREEEE and Geno...actually a lot better pocket presence than Geno.

Geno really was exposed starting in that one game last year vs that tough defense (memory escapes me with the name) but after that game he really wasn't that "superstar" level, to me...

Bridge has yet to not look the part of future star QB.

Where's your evidence that suggests Bridgewater is the best QB?

Think it was Kansas St that did Geno in.

Problem is we wont get the opportunity to see Bridgewater against better competition week in and week out.  So far his claim to fame is the Sugar Bowl against Florida... but even then Louisville's defense was the real star of that game.

1) If you need better competition to evaluate a QB, you have no place evaluating a QB.

2) Did you even watch the Sugar Bowl? It's on youtube, have at it.

He's not the best at scanning the field. He does a lot of focusing on individual receivers.

Looked to me that Broyles didn't step into that throw on that bad INT because he was scared of the incoming pass rusher.

...Or in other words, he Gabbert'ed.

Did you evaluate Geno Smith? Or did you just guess that he'd be worth the #2 pick?

Did you evaluate Garder when you disagreed with me about how he is trash?
