Olson Fired

Is Sprinkle Boy still the head coach? Yes? Then we still suck.

Quote:Didn't everybody on this board want Olson out? Obviously it is not a waste of time.

Not really. I thought he was a genius last year with his deep passing scheme... but with that said, he was totally clueless about the run game. .... I mean as clueless as it gets.

He had a great one too with the Bucs current head coach.

I am completely against the firing of Olson.

Reason being: Gus is the real problem.

Olson has proven to be a great quick fix for a year over the years but when it comes to adjusting to defenses the following years, he falters terribly. We all knew this but expected or hoped for the best. No luck

Exactly. You nailed it again.

As a team we're not running anywhere near enough.

Quote:let's not fix the problem, let's move on to the 3rd O coordinator under Bradley lol
Who cares about Olson, its Bradley who is the problem.  What does Bradley have on Caldwell/Khan?

So JDR sucks?

That's what I'm wondering...these moves in regards to the coaching staff make no sense at all.  I've lost just about all faith in Khan regarding his coaching hires.  And if Caldwell if part of this decision then I don't trust him with the coaching hires either (although I believe he has built a good roster and has gotten better).

This absolutely blows my mind...what are they trying to save (he has shown nothing)?  and WHY are they trying to save him?

Quote:That is what I meant by too many running plays. Until we have a RB like MJD, there is no chance of getting first downs without a great OL.

Not necessarily.... a proper scheme and a sincere focus on the run can go a long ways toward improving a run game, and if the run game gets going, that would be a huge boost to the OL. With few exceptions like the Patriots OLs, most OLs don't like to drop back in pass pro virtually every play. Get the big guys going downfield, and it could open up a lot. Moreover, this may be precisely what Ivory needs to get going, and if Bortles arm is shot as I suspect, we'll need the running game to get going in a hurry.

It has to be something internally we don't know about.  I seriously think he has dirt on one of them.

I was replying to this "He had a great one too with the Bucs current head coach." meaning I was mentioning Tampa's coaches with Jags ties

One thing Gus has established with us as a fan base is his integrity. He'll keep things from us from a competitive standpoint, but he doesn't lie to us. Gus clearly had no plans to fire Olson a few days ago suggesting this is a more recent decision. I'm guessing the conversation was about the need to run the ball more because Blake is having issues, for whatever reason, throwing the ball. Then they looked at Olson and realized he's not the guy to get this team running, and at that point they knew what they had to do.

It also may have been prompted by Khan telling them, "Whoever you decide, someone has to answer for this."
