The album below (and their subsequent albums) hit big time but pretty much made me want to puke.

St. Anger ruined them for me. That was one of the worst albums ever made and they haven't come close to recovering ever since.

Down - NOLA

Crowbar - Odd Fellows Rest

AC/DC - Back in Black

Alice in Chains - Dirt

Corrosion of Conformity - Deliverance

Dax Riggs - If This is Hell Then I'm Lucky (tough to pick just one album by him or any of his bands, several could have been on this list for me)

Sevendust - Seasons (they have so many good albums as well)

Fear Factory - Archetype

Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill

Soundgarden - Superunknown (tough to choose one here as well as I liked "Down on the Upside" almost as much, even their newest album "King Animal" that came out a few years ago was fantastic)

This was tough and in no way represents that all I listen to is hard rock and metal, though those genres do dominate the albums that I end up buying.  I tried to avoid putting Greatest Hits collections, but there are several I could have chosen that I listen to quite frequently like Tom Petty, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Led Zeppelin, John Lee Hooker, etc.  I could have easily included "Imprint" or "From Bliss to Devastation" by Vision of Disorder.  And although it's a relatively new album and new band to me, I could see "Meliora" by Ghost working its way into my top 10 at some point down the line as it is a great album front to back.  Links are to my favorite song on each album on Youtube, though that was tough choosing on most of the albums as well.

Down is awesome. I like Phil's work with them. I have the NOLA album. And Sevendust is solid. I like the acoustic CD they released a few years ago.

Sevendust's new album from last year is one of their best imo as well.  I read an article a couple of months ago about how they were nominated for a grammy (I don't usually pay attention to the grammy's so I wasn't previously aware) earlier this year for the first time for the song "Thank you" off the new album but ended up losing to "Cirice" by Ghost which is what prompted me to check out Ghost.  I went in incredulously thinking who is this band that they awarded a Grammy to over Sevendust?  If you haven't checked out Ghost, you should.  They may not be everyone's thing, but they deserved the Grammy in my opinion.  They're playing the Florida Theater this Friday the 4th as well.

I agree it's a great song and the video is captivating.  I bought Meliora immediately after watching it and bought the rest of their albums shortly after that.

Nice!  I suppose you're going to see him at the Florida Theater in a few weeks.  He's playing this album front to back from what has been advertised.  I'd like to go to the show but haven't committed to buying tickets just yet.
