Gambler offered steak dinner after casino claims $43 million jackpot was 'machine malfunction' A New York woman thought she had hit it big at a Resorts World Casino slot machine —until she was told that the near $43 million figure displayed was a technical glitch... and was offered her a steak dinner instead of money. http://www.foxnews.com/travel/2016/11/02...ction.html ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. $6,500 (the max output for that machine) seems fair.
The casino should not be responsible for $43m if someone is playing on a machine that has a maximum winning $$ of $6,500.

There are lots of similar cases. Google them and you'll find the casinos always win and NOT ONE yet has paid the winner in a show of goodwill.
I contend that all my slot machine losses are also due to "glitches" in the machine. Prove me wrong
Quote:$6,500 (the max output for that machine) seems fair. Agree - but the actual amount shown on the machine is irrelevant. The software can prove what she was supposed to "win" or lose. And legally it is binding.

I get that glitches happen, but when someone shows a 43mm win, the consolation prize of a steak dinner can be a bit harsh. Sounds like per the law they couldn't do anymore though. So it is what it is.
I can see why she's upset, but she will never win. |
