Quote:Shoot as old as you are, Id imagine just about every toots a gamble at this point. Well... sometimes you "just know" that it's safe. Other times it could get... "messy". There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

I would think you need the core of your team to be playoff ready when you sign the future franchise QB for development and salary cap. Its pretty obvious you need as many years as possible with a first contract QB salary if you want to sustain championship appearances. You can't do that trying to build from nothing signing your Qb in the first year.. It would be much much better to sign your furture QB in the 3rd or 4th year of the rebuild.
I wasn't trying to say they chose Blake and Gus to fail,.. just that we as fans (most of us) were thinking this was say 4-5 years and we were competing for a Superbowl.. a lot of people felt that way. In reality it was more like 5-7 years and there was no 100% expectation Blake was really the guy for a Superbowl Put it this way, Dave Caldwell isn't going anywhere under any circumstance. He is fully aware of the pivots that would be necessary if these 2 extremely important picks weren't the guys. He knew it 3 years ago. Do you think Carr would have played as many games as Blake under the O-Line we had each of those years? If we had a bad media coach how do you think the fans would have responded after all those losses the last 3 years? Do you think Caldwell got his job by being less informed of his job than you? Quote:Hear me out. I've always had the thought from the start of this rebuild and watching the first couple of years, that Bradley and Bortles weren't really who Caldwell thought would be the long term guys. I say this for a few reasons. ![]()
You either die as a good poster, or live long enough to become the troll.
Lay off the OP after what I've seen the last few years I'm starting to create fairy tales in my head aswel.
One thing I will say it makes no sense firing gus in the season, he's leading us to a top 5 pick for the new coach. |
