Why is USC playing against Fresno State today?

I will be interested in what people who do watch that game say about Derek Carr. But no way am I watching a game just to see what a senior quarterback can do.

It was a bar bet. Steve Sarkisian and his USC players were in a bar drinking beer when Tim Deruyter and his Fresno State futbol team decided to crash the party and bet that Carr couldn't throw a football over them there mountains.. Carr accepted, teamed up with Deruyter and ran for class president. So now they have to play a football game cause they got caught by the NCAA making bets as punishment.. Word has it at halftime, both teams will be on the field doing the Cha-Cha..

Don't be silly, Winger. When I ask questions I only accept the real answer.

What I want to know about Derek Carr is how do we know if he is better than is brother? I am hoping David Caldwell knows if he is overhyped or the real deal.

How do we know Teddy Bridgewater is better then David Carr?

Point is who knows who is better than who before the draft ultimately it's all a gamble, and just because his brother didn't succeed in the NFL doesn't mean he has more chance of busting in the NFL than anyone else.

Secondly David Carr wasn't even that bad, I'd like to see how Manning/Brady or Brees would have done behind that Oline..I doubt they'd still be in the league due to injuries!

Ahh..I heard the official NCAA ban was on Carr for throwing a steak across the bar at Steve Sarkisian and almost knocking him out.

I am not saying we should assume Derek is just hype because of how David's career went. I just want the Jaguars to make sure they know what they are getting if they do pick him.

I don't know if Teddy is better than Derek, but I do know a lot of people are saying is is more ready for the NFL.

I agree he's more ready, it's just to often i hear the old 'just like his brother' comment.

The most important thing to remember this game is that it is just a piece of the puzzle. Honestly, in the grand scheme of the evaluation process it's a fairly small piece of the puzzle at that.

Interested to see if Fresno's online can protect Carr. They couldn't against Utah st. So this could be worse.

I don't think anyone is denying that. We all know NFL scouts are looking at everything - size, strength, intelligence, character, leadership, and all quarterback-specific abilities. But how much can those scouts learn from this game?

Yeah that was pretty cool. Definitely has a strong love for the game and buys into what being on a team is all about.

If they can't, we will not get a good idea of how well Carr can play with a clean pocket.

Of course it would be good to see what he can do while under pressure because one of the most important qualities in a quarterback is awareness.
