PS4 Pro
|
I'm probably going to get one. Best Buy offers 0% interest financing up to 12 months. gonna trade in my Ps4 and pay off the difference in little chunks over time.
I mainly want it because it will have a big performance impact on games I play like Paragon and Battlefield 1. I'm looking into upgrading my tv to 4k but probably will need to wait a little longer before buying one. There just isn't a ton of support for them right now. Uverse offers no 4k support. Netflix has a 4k mode if you pay extra, but I dont know what shows are available for it. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Gamestop offering 150$ for trade-in of Ps4, and offering Call of Duty:Infinite warfare free with the purchase of a new console. Hmm, might need to do that and just sell the COD for 40-50$.
Slickdeals thread on Walmart PS4 trade in
Walmart trade in value of 178 for gift card. Much better than the best buy $120 :yucky: Walmart gives you a prepaid label to ship it out, and gives you 7 days to ship. I have already registered aswell as put up a craigslist ad. If it sells for more than $175 on craigslist within 7 days, awesome. If not, its off to walmarts trade in company.
I don't really need better graphics for rocket league and madden
Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17 2016 draft players I think will be good

Quote:You need to join the PC master race to play BF1! ive thought about it, but ultimately i like to play games on my tv and sit comfortably with a controller. Playstation always has good exclusives too. even a game like paragon i have the choice of using a mouse and keyboard with the Ps4, but i choose to stick with the controller just because i dont have to sit in front of a desk or something. although the mouse and keyboard have its advantages Quote:I don't really need better graphics for rocket league and madden that's true. battlefield however is only at 900p on Ps4, 720p on Xbox1 and it's a noticeable difference. enemies far away are pixelated
the call of duty free deal by gamestop ended already. now you just get 20$ off for the game. frrrt. gonna go with best buy i think. cant they use the price match policy to give me more for the trade in?
Gamestop offers 150 Best Buy 120 Quote:ive thought about it, but ultimately i like to play games on my tv and sit comfortably with a controller. I'd just wait til Xbox Scorpio next year. PS4 to PS4 Pro is not much of an upgrade much like Xbox One to Xbox One S. Scorpio is what this generation should have been.
Quote:I'd just wait til Xbox Scorpio next year. PS4 to PS4 Pro is not much of an upgrade much like Xbox One to Xbox One S. Scorpio is what this generation should have been. The Scorpio at this point is nothing but a vision for Microsoft. The console doesn't exist. Who knows when it will really come out. The PS4 Pro is a pretty substantial upgrade in graphical performance. It's like more than double the processing power. Xbox1 upgrade to Xbox1s isn't really comparable. Yes, you get nice things with the new XB1s, but it's really just a slim model of the same console with some big changes (4k disc drive, HDR. ect). For example, PS4 Pro will allow you to play Battlefield 1 at (1080p at 60 fps) vs (PS4 900p 30 fps) vs (Xbox1s 720p 30-45 fps)
1080p 60fps should have been standard for Xbox one and PS4 from day one because at the time that was what the gamers wanted and they both FAILED to deliver. So 3 years later they finally catch up and offering in a new $400 dollar package hoping to persuade people that their old consoles are obsolete now. It's 2016 and native 4k gaming is where the work has moved to and you're happy with paying for 2013 specs. Forget that be patient and wait a year. Phil Spencer's has already announced Project Scorpio will be released holiday season 2017 and plenty of tech reviews have enough spec information to prove its fully capable of play at NATIVE 4k. 4k flat-screens will be cheaper and I'll have a console that can utilize it to its fullest.

You might be right. Probably should be patient and upgrade the console and tv when 4k content is more available and affordable.... but that's no fun. It's really not all that different from upgrading a PC gaming system. For example, if you built a PC with the PS4 Pro specs, you would have to spend over $600 (not including cost for windows). That means the Pro is giving you some decent value. http://www.gamespot.com/articles/we-buil...0-6443491/ I'm going to hold off on the 4k tv for now.. although best buy has some good deals right now for 4k tvs. Cheap brands like Toshiba have a 49" model for $199, or a 50 inch LG for $399. How much lower can these prices get?
Yes def hold off on the 4k TV. I remember when LED tvs first came out and a 40in cost $4,000. 3 years later I bought a 70in for $1800. By next year 4k will be pretty much the norm as the prices fall so streaming and cable services(Comcast you better not let me down you [BLEEP]) will be hopping on board. If I'm not mistaken Netflix and Chill services already has 4k streaming.

Cheapest 50" I can find with 4k hdr is a Hisense for $459. Quote:I just realized the cheap prices I'm seeing are 4k but they don't support HDR. If you do decide to grab a tv, now is the time to buy. Prices are normally the lowest right before black friday. The best prices I have gotten and seen have been during the weeks leading up to black friday. Just go bigger than a 50. Once I picked up a 70 I can't go smaller. I think that may be taken the wrong way but I'll own it.

That's the thing is almost all of the black Friday offers on TVs do not support HDR. after spending the night with my new Sony Tv, it's a really nice smart tv. it does anything you want. the problem is still the lack of 4k content. When browsing through Netflix and Amazon, neither service tells you how or where to find true 4k content. And when I started playing something that says its 4k, it isn't true 4k. I could tell it was still 1080p. I had to look up online what on Netflix is 4k. It's still limited. I usually rent movies on Amazon, but nothing tells you if its 4k or not. It still just has HD or SD available. The best thing for 4k content right now is actually Youtube. They have a tab that says "4k" and takes you to 4k only videos. |
