Make an arguement on why Caldwell should stay.

Have a feeling he keeps his job.

10 pick-6's by his "Franchise" BUST QB who is setting our franchise back 4 years. Dave SUCKS

Quote:I'm just trying to disprove the "he drafted well for any reason" argument. 3 top players and another 3 or so decently average players out of 3 full drafts of top 5 picks is just bad no matter how you slice it. Especially when only none of those top players comes from the top 6 most valuable picks.

I also don't think I'm diminishing Lee. I think anyone trying to prop him up is being the brash one. The Jags have played 41 games, and Lee has played 32, since he was drafted and he has been good for like 4 of them. It's a promising stretch he is on, but many an average player has had a good month long stretch. I will wait and see.

Yeah Lee's so average. LOL

I've been crystal clear on Caldwell.

He's made mistakes. Some ugly ones too.

I'm of the opinion that his good moves outweigh the bad.

You disagree. That's fine. But you just suck at identifying talent if you think Lee is average.

I'll still wait, but even if he is a 4th good pick that's still really bad for 3 drafts of elite picks.

The defense kept us in the game today (and a few other games as well). Where was the majority of the front office's attention spent this offseason?

Picking the best available at positions of need doesn't mean these people are smart. Stop.

That is pretty much the sole responsibility of the front office. And they did it well this off-season.

Caldwell needs to officially go.

Defense kept it close against an offense that's statistically in the bottom half of the NFL

Got nothing after Blake was making hunters happy with all those ducks flying around the stadium today. Hood grief that one throw literally went side ways!

I wouldn't have heartburn whether he stays or go honestly.  However, I believe that this roster under Arians, Belichick, Tomlin or another coach of that caliber have a winning record and would be a lock for the playoffs.  That's why I lean toward Caldwell staying.

Does anyone really think this team would not have a winning record under a better coach/coaching staff?

Caldwell should be here during the next coaching tenure. How he does with his next coach should determine if he hits the unemployment line.

I do. With better coaching we would've beat Green Bay, Baltimore, The Chiefs, Houston, and the Lions. This team would be in the driver's seat toward winning the division.

He deserves to keep his job.  His job is to select talented players.  Dave has done a fine job at that.   We haven't had such a talented roster in forever.  However our coaching..... well.... We all know.

One can make a case for the Jaguars retaining Dave Caldwell and one can make a case in terms of going in a new front office direction.

I'll say this though.   The Jaguars talent level is light years better today than it was in November, 2012 when the Lions played the Jaguars the previous time.   That Jags team had very little talent compared to the typical NFL team back then.   That's definitely not the case in 2016.   This Jags team is better QB play,  less discipline penalties,  and more sound Special Teams from being a contender in this year's version of the AFC South.

Dave Caldwell has made some good moves as general manager. The ones I like best are Telvin Smith drafted in the 5th round, trading up for Allen Robinson and Myles Jack in the 2nd rounds of different drafts and getting future pro-bowler Ramsay this season.

Unfortunately, these successes are totally overshadowed by his selection of Bradley and Bortles. Arguably, these 2 will go down as the worst head coach and starting q.b. in NFL history! Therefore, Khan should fire him after the season.

uh that's because we spent the majority of the last 3 seasons building the offense. Let's not pretend we didn't build this side of the team yet?
