Blake Bortles INT %

Quote:League leader in interceptions is improving?

100% improving with the worst o line, worst running game, and worst head coach in NFL.

Bortles has 11 TDs and 4 INTs past 5 games. Where is the improvement in the scoring defense or the running game?

Who would you rather have?

Cam Newton (last year's MVP) AGE 27 - 13 TDs- 8 INTs- 55.8% - 2,432 yards

Blake Bortles AGE 24 20 TDs- 13 INTs - 59.6%- 2,749 yards

Bortles has the higher upside at a younger age. Cam has played 6 seasons in the NFL and has 1 season over 24 TD passes in which his defense carried him that year (2015). He struggles vs. good defenses but you don't see Carolina fans thinking they are gonna draft a better QB than Cam Newton. Jags fans just don't get it. The QB is as good as the team is.....ask Alex Smith, Sam Bradford, Joe Flacco, Brock Osweiler, and Trevor Simien......all QBs with less talent than Bortles has yet their teams carry them to the playoffs with good defenses and excellent coaching.

The crazy thing is that all the "pickable" passes aren't going to actually be caught. If it weren't for all if the crazy interceptions he's gotten from tipped passes his interceptions would be really good.

How many QBs have ever had two balls picked in a season after bouncing off of their own player's foot? Bortles had to put up with that garbage two weeks in a row.

He's not played great, but if he were on a good team like Denver he'd be the toast of the NFL right now.

It does seem like Blake has an inordinate amount of these type of passes intercepted. I think the better thing to do here, while trying to be objective would be to go back and watch all of his picks and see how many were of the "[BLEEP]" variety.

On the flip side of this, we virtually never get any of these same INTs. Marqise alone has had what? Two or three INTs bounce off his hands (granted they were behind him and not good passes) into the waiting arms of defenders. This never happens for us, only to us.

Buy a vowel genius.......

Russell Wilson went from 34 TD passes in 2015 to 11 TD passes in 2016. Why?! The running game and the o line is atrocious. Did Russell Wilson get worse? No.

I only know because I was one too lol. I've had time to normalize though. Now if only the Jags and Blake Bortles would quit causing me to drink I could get on with my life.

So Blake hasn't been a problem all season? It's everyone elses fault.

The throwing into triple coverage, pick 6's, missed deep throws and inaccurate short passes are on everyone but Blake?

Cam Newton (last year's MVP) AGE 27 - 13 TDs- 8 INTs- 55.8% - 2,432 yards
"Worst O-line in the NFL" - FALSE

"Worst running game in the NFL" - False

"Worst HC in the NFL" - YUP, You got one

Also,

you're obsession with Cam Newton is very, very strange. You are so "anti-Newton" obsessed, I think you might have to be that way to offset the strong positive obsession you have for Bortles. Very strange.

Give it up space. We all hope BB turns out to be the terrific franchise QB the Jags have been waiting for. Admittedly, lots of fans have already seen enough (I'm not one of them, but I'm getting close).

Face it. No matter how much you or anyone else believes in Bortles, if he DOESN'T get his turnover problems under control, he is either going to be out of the league entirely, or a backup QB holding a clipboard somewhere.

His turnover issues ARE a very big problem for him. Announcers each and every game harp on the amount of turnovers and pick-6's he's already had in his short career.

You may not agree with it. But, it's the plain truth.

I'd like to see a comparison of 1st half interceptions as well as Int's returned for TDs.

While the stats look better, it just seems that the timing of the interceptions and those returned for TDs gets us in an early hole that we can't dig out of.

Most of us like to see comparisons like you mentioned.

You won't get it from space though. There is absolutely ZERO context in any of his statistics. He only sees totals, and that's it.

I don't think there is a single Jags fan on this message board that doesn't want BB5 to succeed. But you just throwing crap at the wall to see if any of it will stick is just getting ridiculous. Give it up dude, Blake just isn't that good right now.

Digging isn't a way to get out of a hole, you dig?
