I was strictly talking about the first half of games. The OC in the first half has been VERY conservative. I've never seen a team run as much on 2nd and 10 and 2nd and 9 than the Jags do.

#6 defense in yards per play

Literally everything on this team would be average or better if Blake could just sustain drives. Everything about this team is impacted because on 3rd and 4-6 to go Blake is at 44% completions with a 50 passer rating 4.3 YPA and on 3rd and 7-9 to go he is at 40% completions with a 20.1 passer rating 6.0 YPA. Those numbers are downright ghastly.

 

The running game could run more and their overall rushing yards would look respectable. The defense could stay off the field and their scoring defense would look respectable. Everything is because he has sucked.

I don't think anyone claimed they're elite but they're average. And average is exactly what people were wanting last year. If the Jags just had an average defense, this team would become pretty good.

I wouldn't even say he played well against buffalo. He threw for 126 and 50% completion rate. He ran decently but as a thrower he was still crap. We think he played well simply because he didn't turn it over for once and that's pretty sad.

His throwing was good in the Buffalo game. He had some significant drops happen and bad pass interferences and holding was committed against the Jaguars receivers but didn't get called.
