Fantasy Playoff Thread

Davis let me down too  - but I still advanced to the championship in that league.   woo-hoo

My other league had Witten at TE and I'll be playing for 3rd place this week.

Championship in Brian's league thanks mainly to Jughead and Zack Stacy.

Consolation 5th after getting punked in the first round by Diesel in Trav's.  I have avoided relegation to the B league, though.

Life's good.

Charles didn't "rob" you of anything. Charles is one of the top 3 RB in the league. He's fully capable of doing what he did that week on any given week.

Its on'y robbing, and "phony" when you lose by SCRUBS having anomalous numbers for your opponent.....thats usually the only way I lose.

I'll be in the -A- league next year. Ha ha, Trav....I know you didn't want that to happen but it did. I coasted through the consolation rounds with the most points in the entire league, just like the regular season. 13-3 record total. How I didn't win the whole thing is a crime.

TMD, doesn't bother me a bit. You've been in the consolation round the last two years. How scary you are....!!!

I finished 2nd, how about you? Oh, and 2-1 against you, yes I am dreading it. You not winning anything is far from a crime. That's the way it works, and if you don't like it, don't play, because your excuses have become old and tiresome.

You finishing 2-1 versus my team when your team was clearly inferior in both total points and total record just illustrates the LUCK aspect. You friggin lost like 6 or 7 straight games heading into that wild card playoff game. You got lucky. Period.

My teams consistently finish with a high level point total and high level record on a year in year out basis.

The only other thing that is consistent (for whatever cosmic/ act of God reason) is I somehow always get these fluky losses in the playoffs that are not consistent with the way my team produces for the entire season, otherwise.

So you'll be going up against the dude that went 14-2 and had a higher point total than anyone.

Looking forward to it.

All it illustrates is your excuse making abilities some more. You're pathetic, and I owned you this year.

Jags02, did you win your 5th place game?

I won my league championship and none of my Quarterbacks were top 12 quarterbacks on the season. Keeping quarterbacks is not a good idea. You can get 2-3 average QBs and play match-ups much easier than you can get 4-5 average RBs and play match-ups.

You keep Doug Martin over any QB in a keeper/Dynasty league.

I did win 5th place.

As for Doug Martin, I picked him #2 overall ahead of Adrian Peterson and then waived him the week he got injured. Along with whiffing on AP (long story), I have few regrets, and I'm keeping Peyton Manning as my only keeper. My biggest regret was trading away Gio Bernard the day before he broke out on Monday Night. I also waived Shane Vareen when he got hurt and traded away Jones-Drew and Ellington during the season leaving me with Frank Gore, Rashad Jennings, Bobby Rainey, BenJarvis Green-Ellis and Jordan Todman at RB. I don't exactly see any keepers in that group. At WR I'm looking at Michael Crabtree, Keenan Allen, Cordarrelle Patterson, Eric Decker and Kendall Wright. I also have Vernon Davis at TE who would probably be next in line for me to keep if it wasn't for Peyton.

Ok, in your case, I'd keep Manning.

In the other guys case where teams are keeping 3 players, he should keep a (possibly) elite RB. Doug Martin was elite his rookie year, before getting off to a slow start his sophomore year. I'm trying to buy low from the Martin owner in my dynasty league.

In a 12 team league where everyone keeps 3 players, you can get the top 15-20 RBs are all being kept. You don't make a RB that most sites rank as a top 5-10 RB next season back into the draft.
