Strange that they are statistically the 5 worst games he's played this year. He's been inconsistent this year to be fair. Not watch him at all last year?

I can't really help which games are available. I live in Ohio, so I can only watch the games that are offered to me via DirecTV. I couldn't watch all the Clemson games, because they were not offered in my area. The only teams I can see all their games are BIG TEN schools, because I get all the BIG TEN channels. I might have been able to see one more of Clemson's games, as I believe their game against Louisville was available in my area. I had other teams I wanted to scout though and the prospect of watching two running QB's against one another didn't really interest me.That kind of football bores me to tears. I wanna see drop back passers.

Ah okay fair enough. Did you see him last year at all? He's a really good drop back passer too, good accuracy and touch and able to manipulate defenses. The running is just an extra trait that he has.

I honestly don't remember watching him last year, but I scouted a lot of players in 2015. I normally just watch players who I know have a chance at turning pro that year. As far as Watson being a good drop back passer, I'm sorry, I just don't see it.

I dont believe he wants to play that long despite what he says, maybe if he was making the superbowl every year but otherwise no. One more superbowl ring and he walks imo, and if he doesnt make it this year and the next hell retire too. The patriots as a team arent getting any better really which makes it even more difficult. And hes become increasingly ineffective throwing the ball deep, which isnt that big of a deal given the system but he is certainly wearing down its just hard to see because hes so good at everything else the system currently demands.

He was heisman caliber last year. What concerns do you have with him as a drop back passer?

Same thing. His decision making and lack of poise. He gets rattled too easy and instead of going through his entire progressions, he either takes off running or checks down to the nearest receiver. To me, he looks like he'splaying scared.

Watson isn't the best QB in this class, nor should he be taken 3rd.

He is still better than Bortles.

Both can be true.

Fair points apart from the playing scared bit.

Realistically when you look at Watson skillset, intangibles, production and potential he is QB #1 and it isn't even that close. Trubisky could be decent but has a good few ??? marks , Mahomes could be great but needs a ton of refinement. Draft guys will start pushing Watson's stock up again the deeper we get into draft season.

We'll see how he performs vs OSU and then (if they win) Bama.

I have no doubt Watson is drafted in the first round.

I just hope it isn't by us.

If we're drafting another QB, I think it'll be 2018

Mayfield, Barrett, Kaaya...

But a guy I'm watching and expect to rise up draft boards for 2018 (barring injury in his senior season)

Luke Falk.

As of now, he plans to return for his senior season.

So that'd put him in our sights as our first round selection, if he continues to play well and we continue to need a QB.

He usually has his best games in the big ones.

Is Luke Falk the Washington guy? I think Josh Rosen the UCLA guy will be there next year and maybe Kizer.

Solely because he's a QB.  Not because he's some rare QB talent.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's a talented prospect for sure.  But to me, nothing worth drafting at #3.

As I suggested, though... not so special QB talent has been drafted that high before, and will again.

That's different from saying he should be, which I don't agree with.

Yeah he's pretty much the best of bad bunch. I think he'd be worth a top 10 pick in most drafts though. Jaguars won't with Bortles still here but I'd say the Browns will heavily consider him, fits Hues scheme well.

I like Davis Webb in the third round but I don't know how ready he'd be as a rookie and some are now calling him a second rounder so he may not be there in the third.

Trubisky looks good if they take a guy early.  Maybe not worthy of such a high pick, but it doesn't matter if he pans out.

Even Deshaun Watson has some question marks. I read NFL scouts were not impressed with his performance against Pitt. By then some scouts already had doubts about him as a draft prospect. I don't know what their concerns are, but any little nitpicking at this point will.go under the microscope in February.

I will take Cousins over Jimmy any day.   Cousins has started more games.

There is zero shot at Cousins though, Jimmy G there is a very slim chance at least.
