If Bortles leads a big drive then its his "fault" and we are all happy. If the defense gives up big plays it's their fault. I dont know what you're trying to get out of this.

Finally someone gets it. If you think the team's problem is Bortles, or that we can even know that Bortles is the problem right now under this coaching staff then you don't understand what's going on with this team.

Yes, 1 TD drive.. after 40+ yards of penalties by the Vikings D. There's your accomplishment of the game for Bortles.

The Vikings have 18 points. Our defense is not great today, but they are doing enough to keep us in this game.


Bortles has shown ALLLLL SEASON LONG he can't get it done.


Like it or not, he's the Starting QB. He's under a bigger magnifying glass than the other 52 players. His individual performance maters more than anyone else.


And it's not like you can sit here and point to him putting up tons of points every week and our defense just folding.


Our offense has failed to get it done. Repeatedly. All year.

My point is clearly the parts of the team that some people confuse for being good are actually just parts of the team that aren't being exposed currently, because the defense is only good in one respect, and that's yards given up.

 

I hope Coughlin can get in and straighten some of this out and we can finally start to have strengths on the team rather than just weaknesses that haven't been exposed yet.
