Quote:Reports coming out he can get canned as early as tomorrow. Do we fire Gus early and pick him up or wait for better option? God No! He was a terrible hire to begin with. He is not a good head football coach. There will be much better options.
Rex gonna suffer the agony of defeet.

Quote:during the tampa vs saints game, announcer said Mike Smith DC of the bucs could be the Jaguars next head coach. Eeeeewwwwww, he sucked in Atlanta and runs a cover 2 zone D Did he not take Atlanta to the playoffs a couple times? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:Did he not take Atlanta to the playoffs a couple times? 4 times. Reportedly, Mike Smith was the Giants runner up HC choice this past winter. He probably will get one or more interviews next month.
Quote:4 times. That was my point. Mike Smith could not have been a bad HC in Atlanta if he had four playoff seasons. Definitely more than one interview, especially if Tampa Bay sneaks into the playoffs. Quote:That was my point. Mike Smith could not have been a bad HC in Atlanta if he had four playoff seasons. Quote:Yet is Mike Smith a good fit as Jaguars HC? I don't know about that, but he was a great Jaguars DC.
who Khan hires will be a premium over Smith or Ryan.

Because Jaguars is our mantra
![]() Quote: Yet is Mike Smith a good fit as Jaguars HC?Yes he is, especially with a strong OC like...Norv Turner maybe. He runs a 4-3 defense which generally would fit our personnel on that side of the ball. He would use conventional DEs which should eliminate completely useless guys like Tyson Alualu. He's worked with Dave Caldwell before. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Yes he is, especially with a strong OC like...Norv Turner maybe. This could be the kicker. He was always good with our Defense when he was here. Both in developing and coaching. Neither of which is happening much right now. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! Quote:This could be the kicker. He was always good with our Defense when he was here. Both in developing and coaching. Neither of which is happening much right now.Without commenting on the overall viability of Bortles for the moment, we have some decent talent on the offensive side of the ball. If we ever got a QB who had it all together, whether that be Bortles or someone else, we have three good WRs in AR, Lee, and Hurns. We've got two decent RBs. Right now, we need to build the OL, minimally needing a RT and a LG, with an argument to be made for a stud LT. My point is that if we had a better coached team, we'd play with more leads. If we played with more leads, our guys on defense like Jack, Telvin Smith, Ngakoue and Fowler become better players playing in a more conventional 4-3. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:Yes he is, especially with a strong OC like...Norv Turner maybe. Good points. Yet, from the standpoint of the Jaguars as a young team that hasn't experienced much winning in recent seasons and at times seems to lack discipline and attention to detail, is Mike Smith a good fit in that respect? I have some doubts, though I certainly have respect for Mike Smith as a person and recognize the winning and playoff seasons he's had with the Atlanta Falcons. Quote: Good points.Well, I know I'm asking a lot, but go back to Smith's days as Def coord here. Do you recall many instances of undisciplined play? I don't. Now granted a coach on the team who knew the defensive teachings and assignments may recoil at what I just typed, but from the outside looking in, there didn't seem to be many problems with gap control, blown assignments, stupid penalties on that side of the ball when he was there. As coach of the Falcons, he had to do something right for them to get to the playoffs all those times under him. I think if there were any sins he was guilty of is not building a dominant enough defense or dominant enough OL. As I type this, I realize his LBs in Atlanta were not the athletes Jack and Smith are, and he didn't have the kind of CB we have in Ramsey. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

He would not believe you if you told him anything. What did Rex say then when the first time anyone said anything about then happened before?

Unless I fell into a coma and have just woke up years in the future, you must be wrong. The last time I checked, Ivory and Yeldon were our RB's. You can't possibly be referring to them.

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
