Good post wrong. I do understand a lot of idioms. In fact I often used "drive me nuts" on this forum. I also use "pain in the butt." Kick a cat across the street is a new one for me though. And for the life of me I can't figure out "knock on wood" if nobody explains it. You hit the nail on the head about logic ruling my thought process, however. If something does not make sense, I get mad.

 

How did you learn what "drive me nuts" and "pain in the butt" actually meant when the first time you ever saw or read them you took them to literally mean exactly what they read?

I have never seen so many logic fails by someone supposedly ruled by "logic."

 

I suppose if the false logic is defeated by an argument, then that argument is deemed false on its face, and therefore summarily rejected, to uphold whatever false belief/false logic that's being adhered to.  At least, that's what I gather from observing the rejection of the notion of ever being wrong.  About anything.

Logic is different for people with AS. What makes sense to most people will never make sense to me and vice versa. Like why do people think just because we lost a game, nothing good happened, even though it was not a shutout or blowout? Take away a penalty here or a bad call there, and we win the game, yet people insist everything was bad. That is false logic.

Also, if you get mad, as you say, every time something does not make sense to you, you are going to have a very very difficult time in most forums, especially sports forums because there are going to be so many posts that just aren't going to make sense to you. Heck, some of them don't make sense to me, but I sure don't get mad about it.

 

Actually, there are a lot of things in the world that don't make sense, so it's not just in forums.

One of your biggest problems is that you don't listen to arguments that don't agree with your own.  You ignore any logic that defeats your pre-formed opinions.

 

And that, to me will never make sense... which has nothing to do with AS.

I did not take them literally. You can't drive nuts - you drive cars LOL. Pain in the butt was easy to pick up naturally just hearing how people use it. Unfortunately I can't say the same for kicking a cat across the street.

I understand your sentiment, but sometimes people don't want to see the positives.

 

In their minds, it doesn't matter how many good things happened, we still lost. Sure, take those penalties or the bad calls out and it's a win, but those things cannot be changed. Much like the loss against GB when there were lots of bad calls against the Jags which were acnkowledged retrospectively. The sad reality is, you can acknowledge those things retrospectively but it doesn't change the outcome of the result.

Absolutely, but unfortunately right at the end of the game, people don't want to see the positives.

 

Sometimes they're harder to take because without those we would win the game. It's easier to accept positives after a period of time has elapsed.

You're making the mistake of confusing correlation with causation.

 

Did the sun rise on the days you made those observations?  If so, that might be the reason.  Not AS.
