Quote:TC is a winner. I want winners in the building. It would be a great start.

He's also a loser, as all coaches are. He needs to have a defined role (which, IMO, needs to be head coach or nothing) or you run the real risk of having a dysfunctional front office.

Hope not.

Quote:Pro football weekly say that Coughlin is the front runner for the Bills job. Its either agent trickery or its a HC he wants.

Of course Tom wants a HC job. He's made that clear.

And his agent is doing a good job of building tension - better hire him now before you lose him!

As I've said all along, I think we will find we dodged a bullet if Coughlin goes on to HC somewhere else.

Hey, have faith!

Thing is, if he's in the right situation he'll do well, as he certainly knows how to coach. He's proven that.

But a lot of guys know how to coach. (See Mularkey and Del Rio, 2016).

It's finding yourself in the right situation that is the hard part.

Thats not ideal at all. Thats a disaster.

This is nothing but a rumor probably used as leverage to get more teeth to the Jaguars head coach vacancy. The Bills at 7-7, and in the playoff hunt are not calling for their coach to be fired . Cant even talk to coaches yet. Jaguars have confirmed interest in Coughlin and whether you like the move or not, Tom Coughlin will a front runner, if hes not leading the pack to coach the Jaguars next season.

The Bills could hire Coughlin today if they wanted to.

Coughlin coming here and failing miserably would be tough to watch.

Bills are not firing a head coach at 7-7 in the playoff hunt. Can they talk to Coughlin, sure, but thats really unprofessional.

They don't have to hire him as coach.

He's also a loser? 2 Superbowls beg to differ. I'll stand on my opinion that winners are needed in any capacity in this org. Tom is more than welcome to come back.

we may have that now but just not know it.

If Dave Caldwell says he is genuinely interested in Tom Coughlin, no games are being played except the Titans and Colts.

only if thats where he wants to be...coughin might be the front runner in the bills eyes, but he may have other plans...Dave made it public that the jags are wanting to talk to him so I seriously doubt TC is going to sign the first offer that is presented to him

I'm not saying anything about the realities, just that Buffalo isn't DQd just because they haven't fired Rex today.

Anyone who thinks the Bills could have hired Tom Coughlin today has a big problem. They have to talk to him before even thinking if they want him.

Quote:@charlesrobinson League source: Tom Coughlin could rejoin #Jaguars as an executive if he doesn't come back as head coach. Possibly VP of football operations.

This means nothing. He could rejoin, or he could not. He could be head coach, or he could not. Possible be VP of football operation, or possibly not. He could be OC or he could not. SMH
