What scouts are saying about Teddy Bridgewater

Quote:If comedy was his intention, it has to actually make sense for it to be funny. And every white QB is Blaine Gabbert.

Quote:Ok, I'm perfectly fine if you don't like TB for whatever reason, but posts like these just have me rolling on the floor laughing. Seriously, your posts can be even worse than that 13 year-old HeeRo. You claim you are perfectly fine with not liking Teddy Bridgewater, but you appear to insult me and make racial insinuations in a feeble attempt to disqualify my opinion. Innocent people usually have no problem seeing clearly where the oppressed rapidly become the oppressors. Please keep posting, but I must condemn the strategy you are using in order to over-come Bridgewater's lack of elite talent.

Again, some of your "logic" are worse than that of HeeRo. Quote:And every white QB is Blaine Gabbert.Except that no one ever catergorize every white QB in the same/similar group. Can't be said the same for the perception of black QBs, especially for a QB like Teddy since he's been the opposite of what you would expect in a "black" QB i.e. Vince Young, Geno, etc...Yet somehow he's still grouped with them as prospects. Quote:You claim you are perfectly fine with not liking Teddy Bridgewater, but you appear to insult me and make racial insinuations in a feeble attempt to disqualify my opinion. So who's your top QB? And what makes him elite over Bridgewater?
Quote:this thread is really silly. Teddy will have an easy transition to the pros, and barring injury will have a very good career. I don't know that I see him becoming a premier QB, but his floor is very high. He is a perfect fit for the Texans, and they are going to pick him first overall. Bridgewater is playing well enough at a level of competition that includes Ohio, Eastern Kentucky, Temple, South Florida, etc. The issue about why he decided to not accept scholarship offers from major college football programs just kind of hangs out there as self-evident. What will happen if Bridgewater is drafted by the Jaguars? He will sit on the bench for a couple of games (maybe) then the angry mob will cry aloud for Teddy to start as is. Then what? We've proven time and again we are a franchise that demands constant human sacrifices at the QB spot. A couple of lucky wins during a totally meaningless late season surge generated by sluggish, unmotivated players attempting to fight off their own demise and Jaguars' fans are already convinced all we need is a quarterback. We're losers. Savor that for a while. Six consecutive NON-winning seasons. We had that accomplished by the end of week eight. Try very hard to think above throwing another rookie quarterback to the wolves.

Quote:So who's your top QB? And what makes him elite over Bridgewater? If you actually read any of my QB prospect posts, there are no elite prospects at the QB spot in this next draft. Most of us hoped that with another season of college football under his belt, Bridgewater would elevate to elite status. He did not. Again, an elite quarterback prospect entering the NFL Draft has all of the talent to play NFL quarterback at the absolute highest level going in. He must raise no questions about his ability to lead by perfection and good example-making. All the check-offs must be plainly visible in all of his film. An elite QB prospect is a consensus league-wide vote to immediately, single-handedly make his team annual Super Bowl contenders.

Quote:ahh well who are your top QBs? and why do you prefer them over Bridgewater? You want me to post my top QBs now? Let's wait and see who declares. There are a number of pro-style drop-back passers in limbo.

Teddy has height issues, but I'm not really concerned about the weight. Yeah, he's not huge, but he's not a twig.
![]() Yes, he's no Tim Tebow or Brady Quinn as far as his physique is concerned. But he's very solidly lean. Honestly, it would not surprise me if he tests out better athletically than people expect. In contrast, here's Eli Manning ![]() Eli is listed as 6'4 218 lbs. From a build perspective, CLEARLY Teddy is built better than Eli, with only the height being an edge in Eli's case. Eli, and many other qbs of similar builds have had successful and long careers in the NFL. Bridgewater is no more susceptible to injury as any of these other quarterbacks are. I'd hold off on saying he has "height issues" before we actually know how tall he is. And TB is a lean guy, but he's clearly bigger now than he was in that picture above. Quote:I'd hold off on saying he has "height issues" before we actually know how tall he is. Don't think he'll measure 6'3-6'4 which is the "ideal" QB height. Unless he somehow measures at 5'11" or below, he'd still be my pick. His pocket presence and smarts make up for his height, IMO. And as far as the picture is concerned, that is my point. He's been solidly lean, and he does look bigger now (if maybe by 5-10 lbs, but that is of muscle). He's still not bulky, but he's clearly put work in at the gym. Honestly, he has the build of a decent sized WR (6'1, 200). If he can work around his less than ideal height (which I think he can), then there's no other physical issue as far as Teddy's concerned.
I'm not too concerned with measurables outside the freakishly good/bad (Von Miller/Jarvis Jones)

Quote:Lol, can we please stop with the Geno comparison already? That's a weak argument. At this time last year, most fans and media were already off the Geno-wagon by mid college season. I am not comparing Teddy to Geno. I was just saying it is possible to see Teddy drop to our pick even though most people think he will go #1 overall by pointing out that's what we kept hearing about Geno at this time last year. What makes you think I was comparing them? Quote:This thread is really silly. Teddy will have an easy transition to the pros, and barring injury will have a very good career. I don't know that I see him becoming a premier QB, but his floor is very high. He is a perfect fit for the Texans and they are going to pick him first overall. What's silly is an AFC scout thinks Teddy should be a second round pick while everyone else says it would be a huge upset if he does not go first overall. Starting a topic about that stupid comment is not silly at all. "Barring injury" is ridiculous. Every quarterback who ever played got hurt at least once. Even if Teddy suffers a career-ending injury he will have a great career up to that point. You mean his ceiling is very high. His floor was when he started playing football. Teddy will not become a premier quarterback because he already is one. That is pretty obvious. Remember we may scoop him up at #2 because that will be our pick if the Redskins win and we lose. Quote:If you actually read any of my QB prospect posts, there are no elite prospects at the QB spot in this next draft. Most of us hoped that with another season of college football under his belt, Bridgewater would elevate to elite status. He did not. Explain to everyone why you think Teddy is not an elite prospect. If that was true, I highly doubt anybody would suggest it is possible for him to go #1 overall. You are assuming a quarterback must be perfect in every way to be considered elite. Fact: There is no such thing as a perfect quarterback. Name one QB in NFL history who has or had been perfect at everything, immediately made his team a Super Bowl contender, and was the only player on his team. I guarantee you can't do it. Quote:Bridgewater is playing well enough at a level of competition that includes Ohio, Eastern Kentucky, Temple, South Florida, etc.Ohhh Emm Geee....just.....stop it. I am dieing of laughter right now. :teehee: Teddy must have accidentally kicked your puppy really hard for you to continuously pull comical nonsense out of your rear.
Quote: This is hilarious. Laughable. What you described is literally impossible to be. Judging by these standards, I can't think of a single QB, Peyton Manning included, that fit this criteria to a tee. You look for a QB that does certain things very well and that has potential to grow into something even better. I think Teddy clearly has that. He's not perfect, but he's very good.

Quote:At this point last year, everyone said Geno Smith will be #1. Just like what happened with Gabbert. Want that again? Nope.

Quote:Where'd you get 6'1 from? . Thats actually a solid estimate per looking at him in games. I'd bet he measures out around 6' 1" and 200. Quote:Just like what happened with Gabbert. You think as a QB that Teddy is similar to Gabbert was entering the league?? rofl..... and the Gabbert mistake was compounded more by trading UP and giving away a 2nd rounder to attain him.
Quote:Just like what happened with Gabbert. No, predictions for the top pick changed a lot before most people said it will be Cam Newton. I don't think most people said it will be Blaine Gabbert in December 2010. Quote:Where'd you get 6'1 from? . Just the eye test from watching him. We'll see how he measures out during combine, but I don't think he hits his listed 6'3. |
