What scouts are saying about Teddy Bridgewater

Quote:He'll probably have Duane Brown blocking for him, but thats another story....

I am for the Jags drafting Teddy should the miracle happen and he falls to our pick.

Duane Brown? Are you nuts? Luke Joeckel was drafted this year for a reason: to block for the quarterback. And his right ankle will be fine before the OTAs.

You guys have sharp eyes.

We can't. People are saying that because an AFC scout said Teddy is short and everyone knows 6-3 is tall enough.

I'm sure he was implying that Teddy will be drafted #1 by the Texans who have Duane Brown as their LT... Unless you were joking about this.

Why would I be joking about it? I thought we were talking about the possibility Bridgewater will drop to our pick.

Well you know the eye test never fails.

Quote:Teddy has height issues, but I'm not really concerned about the weight. Yeah, he's not huge, but he's not a twig.

Yes, he's no Tim Tebow or Brady Quinn as far as his physique is concerned. But he's very solidly lean. Honestly, it would not surprise me if he tests out better athletically than people expect.

In contrast, here's Eli Manning

[Image: eli_manning_new_york_giants_superbowl.jpg]

Eli is listed as 6'4 218 lbs. From a build perspective, CLEARLY Teddy is built better than Eli, with only the height being an edge in Eli's case. Eli, and many other qbs of similar builds have had successful and long careers in the NFL. Bridgewater is no more susceptible to injury as any of these other quarterbacks are.

I like Teddy. I'd be OK with drafting him #1, but let's be honest here. Teddy is SMALL. He IS a twig. He needs to add some weight. I think he'll do fine but he isn't big enough.

She doesn't joke. About anything.

We were and still are. But part of the discussion was about his size and injuries and all and he merely stated during his thought that he'd probably have Duane Brown for the Texan's blocking for him. How about we move on from the whole pointless Duane Brown thing? I thought I was just trying to help you understand.

Quote:Just like what happened with Gabbert.

Want that again?

Nope.
OMG...now you compare to Gabbert....I expected better from you, Pirkster.

That's a trend I've noticed as of late. If a poster doesn't like a QB then compare him to Gabbert.

I find it comical that people compare him to Geno, but the Gabbert comparision is going way over my head I thought I must have missed something, especially coming from a mod.

And why all of a sudden people questioning his "height"?  He is not short.  Manziel, Murray, even Boyd are considered short.  If anything, I thought Russell WIlson has already put the height factor to rest.

From a scouting standpoint, Manziel is extremely similar to Gabbert, though Gabbert is a bit bigger.

LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

There's one QB I thought looked like Gabbert this year. Adam Kennedy from Arkansas State.

Quote:I'll still go on record saying that I think teddy is going to be one of the best qbs drafted in the past ten years. It would be a shame to miss out on him.

There's absolutely zero evidence that would suggest this.

You missed quite a bit.

If a QB some prematurely pegged as the first overall of the draft slips from that pedestal, it's for good reason.

It's because he was never that valuable prospect to begin with.  Sorry if the truth hurts some of you who fell for the fraud.

if there was evidence it wouldn't be an opinion. It would be a fact, and his career would already be over....

In the post-game show from the last game Marco Coleman said something interesting. He is not very high on two players.

He is not high on Bridgewater.

He is not high on Clowney.

He thinks there are better prospects than both at their respective positions.
