This from Big Cat Country via CBSSports...

As I think about it, I become a little more intrigued.

He did take them from obscurity to relevance in the tough SEC West.

He has produced some first round NFL prospects.

Nevertheless, I prefer an NFL guy.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

nope, no college coaches.

We saw the difference an experienced, NFL head coach made.

The ping pong tables are gone, no food in team meetings, no stupid rahrah clapping after all plays, next group

called up and ready to play, walk throughs on the playing field

the team is starting to act like grown ups

I'm actually a fan of Freeze, but I'm a bit put off by the gamble of hiring a college coach.

Coming from an Ole Miss Alumni...Freeze isn't a NFL Coach.

He is a great recruiter but his development of players is really lacking and his 99.9% shotgun offense with 4 wide isn't going to work in the NFL even though we have the WRS necessary.

I doubt TC would say that about Bortles. Not to a reporter, anyway.

Honestly, if the Jags beat Indy next week, and Bortles plays well, Marrone should be the next coach.

Probably his agent floating the rumor.

What has Freeze ever done to warrant consideration?  Never coached in the pros, never won anything in college.   If they gave the job to Freeze, I would be flabbergasted.

Freeze? Hahahahahaha

Even if you're going with a college guy, why would it be a guy who runs an air-raid style offense who has made his name mostly in recruiting?

He wouldn't be the first college coach from that state that I'd want.

I don't care who it is really, I just wanted Gus fired two years ago. Never will we see a coach that bad again so I'm cool on anybody they hire.

Freeze in a few years may be able to make the jump to the NFL but not now. His offense won't make the NFL. In terms of being a good coach, I think he's fantastic. To take a 2-10 team in the most brutal division in College Football and make them a threat in just two years, that's impressive to me. One day he may make the jump but he needs a few years. He's only been coaching football for a short time. Hell he was a girls high school basketball coach like 15 years ago. Not ready yet for the big league but to say he isn't a good coach is laughable

Harbaugh? Caroll? Yes there's a good share of duds but it's not as if a college coach has never succeeded in the NFL
