For the people saying he quit on buffalo. Wilson died and there was a change in ownership, there was a greater than not chance that the Pegula's were going to axe him and get their own guy regardless of what he did. He didnt agree with the drafting of EJ Manuel or the moves the GM was making. He was a lame duck who made the smart move and got out of dodge with a fully guaranteed salary before he could be scapegoated, had Wilson not unfortunately passed away I still believe he'd be coaching in Buffalo as his opt out was only for a change in ownership, and he had a 9-7 record in a division with Brady his first year. He's a good coach, that said I'd still like to see them bring Coughlin back.

Championship Formula:

1) Draft Trevor Lawrence!
2) Play good physical Defense!
3) Keep 91% of the roster healthy!
4) ???
5) Blank #2
6) CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Quote:It gives me hope there are fans who recognize that while Marrone isn't Gus, he isn't a good coach either. We are so starved for genuine leadership, even an average coach can look like Parcells or Belicheat. As TheAll22 posted, "It's a trap!"
and how is that? short week and results. I am amazed at how many dont understand the guy had lack of time to prepare and blew out a sure fire playoff team.

And if he wins decisively again and we bring back tom and he don't do squat then what?

I was on the TC bandwagon until I saw what Marrone accomplished in such a short time. Now I'm not so sure. Let's see what happens in Indy.

I think the question mark was, what was he doing the whole time Gus was floundering around. But then when you think about it, was he really hired to mentor Gus or was he paid to do that?

People keep saying this but gus was the boss. I know any job I have ever had, whether you think your ideas are better, whatever the boss says is what needs to be done.

We don't know what went on behind the closed doors. Maybe Marrone offerered suggestions that were constantly shut down? It's almost impossible to speculate.

Quote:This Is a guy who quit in buffalo, now he seemed to know what would make this team tick with planning and executing a game plan and it worked quite well. but can we trust someone who was the assit head coach with an offensive mind and did not help gus a defensice coach game plane or tell him how to make it work the right way. @#$% him put marone on the bus out of town at the end of the season. someone to selfish to help a struggling coach and team then come in say I know how to fix it is a loser with a capital L

He didn't quit,he was giving a option.. And he chose to opt out.. How many times to owners opt out on their coaches?? To be honest I could care less about that.. It wasn't the situation he,wanted to be in.. And how do you know he,wasn't helping or trying? His words could only go so far up.. Now he can in force his ideas and playing style.. So let's see how it pans out.

Then you start the process over and find another Head Coach not named Marrone or Coughlin, but if you think Coughlin wont do squat (especially considering he cant be worse than Bradley and Khan has a legendary level of patience) you're out of your mind lol. That wasn't a serious question right?

I like the scheme and just want the players to play to their potential every game, every year they are physically able to. I just analyze it like a job. If your Boss is fired then you know as an even lower level employee that your job is even more insecure. If i can lose my job at any time and my boss is the one who has faith in me doing what i currently do, once he gets fired then what. It seems like common sense to me but i guess everyone feels that Marrone gave some Holy speech to the players that forced grown men to magically start playing better and acting like adults. He must be a hell of a parent and should go in to preaching if he has that type of effect on People in such a short time span.

Jaguars interim coach Doug Marrone says they moved Allen Robinson around bit more; lined him up at Z for first time this season.

Obvious upgrade. That was one of my biggest gripes when I was posting that quote about how even Kyle Shanahan moves Julio around to gain matchup advantages while we simply stick Arob across from the other teams best corner snap after snap after snap.

I'm almost upset with you that I mostly agree with you with our coaching situation.

One has to wonder how much of that was part of the "dumbing down" process of the offense for Bortles' sake.

Fisch was into shuffling the receivers, but it stopped when Olson came on board.

Regardless, it's a shame not to make an attempt at creating more mismatches with this receiving corps.

Glad that it's being utilized.

What a concept...Threw the ball downfield more times in one game than the first 14 combined.

Then again the Titans have given up 300 yards and multiple passing TDs in 7 of their last 10 games so maybe we just took advantage of a reeling defense who also fell into a bit of a trap game.

The tacks pass defense stinks. But the Jags have failed to take advantage of plenty of opportunities this season to exploit an opponent's weakness.

Was great to see them do so - especially since it required #5 actually looking competent to get it done.

Not sure where to put this, but here's Jags Wired with Prince featuring a bit of Doug Marrone:

It was nice to see a bit of cockiness from our head coach when Marrone was talking about them throwing Prince's way.

DiRocco said on Twitter that he's going to try to find out this week if they didn't have the autonomy to change that type of stuff under Gus.

They did seem to take more deep shots in this game, and Blake seemed to naturally improve by doing so.

Listening to Marrone, it sounds like he saw a match-up he liked with ARob at the Z early on during the week.
