Ronald Leary

So the Cowboys currently have big money tied up in Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick, but also have to worry about Zack Martin soon. Seems like Ronald Leary might be testing free agent waters. Do we make a run at him and plug him in at G?

Do we make a run at him and plug him in at G?Yes, among several others. The team needs a solid starting guard desperately. I prefer addressing needs in FA and taking BAP in the draft Note: I don't care for finesse type linemen. I prefer the big nasty maulers.
I can dig Leary. Hes not top of the line or anything but hes a solid OG. We havent had that this year.
Plug and play, what's not to like?
He'd instantly upgrade the guard position. I can't envision Cinci letting Zeitler go - perhaps Andrew Witworth.
Quote:Plug and play, what's not to like? I doubt it. Yes, Whitworth is older, but he still grades out very, very highly. With that said, the Bengals drafted Cedric Ogbuehi in the first round of 2015 to play RT and move to LT, once Whitworth is done playing. Ogbuehi has been an unmitigated disaster. He is nothing more than a speed bump to opposing D-Linemen. They also drafted OT Jake Fisher in round 2 of the same year. Although he is far from great, he has had to fill the RT spot, because Ogbuehi has been so bad. Until the Bengals can find a suitable replacement, I just can't see them cutting ties with Whitworth, especially since the O-Line, particularly the RT and Center positions have been such a disappointment this year. They might decide to keep Whitworth and Zeitler, since they are essentially their only reliable pass protectors. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:Everyone called parnell big and nasty before he got here too.people can could of called him what they wanted before he got here but hes been here a few years now so we know what he is and that is an average RT at best
Not really familiar with him in particular, but with that much talent on the OL, there will undoubtedly be someone who looks a lot better because they play next to great players.
