Jags can pretty much draft any player they want
|
I don't know why we go through this every year. Everyone puts out pretty much same mock draft with no QB on the top 5 but every year 2 or 3 get taken.
Do they seriously think that Browns and 49's won't be going after a QB? Even Bears will be in the hunt. This leaves Jags in a pretty good spot. I won't be surprised at all if Myles Garrett doesn't fall to us. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:I don't know why we go through this every year. Everyone puts out pretty much same mock draft with no QB on the top 5 but every year 2 or 3 get taken. This is true. As an example, last year. Anyone who thinks Goff and Wentz were top 5 players last year is on crack. They got pushed up because they were quarterbacks.
Browns have 2 picks in the 1st so they possibly could wait to take a qb till the second pick or just take their guy at 1 in case bears or 49ers want that same qb, but yeah we got our pick of whichever defender we want I hope we got the choice out of Garrett or Allen if their both gone then who?
No Fun

With 2 picks, why wait if you need a QB and are happy with the one at the top of your board?
That makes the second pick, not the first... your gravy pick. Unless, of course, you aren't sold on the QB at the top and someone else is and willing to pay you handsomely for it.

We should draft a pass rusher. We're an elite pass rusher away from this defense being special.

On your point about QBs, I agree. All three teams picking in the top 3 need a QB and John Fox and Hue Jackson will probably be on hot seats next year. It's highly unlikely at least one of them won't take a QB. That said, I doubt all of them will or even 2, but I'm sure at least one will.

Never know what will happen. Jets could trade up with Cleveland to take a QB and all of a sudden mocks will be completely different.
I wanted us to get Cook but the way that Grant ran against the Colts I'm not so sure. With Grant, Yeldon, and Ivory as our backs we have some depth. I wouldn't mind a pass rusher or an eilte offensive lineman. Although I don't think there are any elite lineman in the draft this year.

Quote:Don't put ANY stock in Grant's game against the Colts! Why? He looked pretty good to me. Fast. Hit the right holes, etc..
Anyone a fan of trading down in the draft?

I'm not saying Grant is the answer at RB. What I'm saying is that Grant showed enough that we don't have to get a RB in the first round. If we want to draft one in 3 or 4, I'm good with that.
Exactly Predator. Especially against that ferocious Colts D! The guy hasn't passed the eye test in two years and he finally broke one free. He's just not that good.
Preach, we need a bona fide starting cowbell RB. We don't have one and Grant shouldn't be part of that equation.
