TJ Lang

Perhaps he should be our top free agent target to solidify the OL. Put Lang next to Parnell and I bet Parnell (flip AJ to LG) is suddenly playing much better.

Let's do this!

Lang would be a big improvement, but if we were going to make one FA OL splash I think it should be Wagner. This draft is really bad at OT, but has some quality IOL. Wagner at RT and one of Feeney/Nelson/Pocic/Elfein would have us rocking and rolling.

Dave has moved on from FA signings quickly when they underperformed in the past.  (Beadles?)

There's zero reason to assume he wouldn't do the same if the coaches don't wan to start Parnell and they don't like his value as a back-up.

I agree with this, but it possibly depends on how Parnell's contract is structured. Does he get a roster bonus this year and when. Free Agency can be a blur and just because the Jag's try to upgrade the position does not mean they will be able to get their guy.

I'm pretty sure all of Parnell's guaranteed money has been paid. They can move on w/o penalty.

They front-loaded him with a 5 mil roster bonus in 2015.  He's due no bonus in 2017 and a 6.5 mil base. They could keep him to compete with a draft pick or FA signing without too much sting  -- or just release him if they sign an upgrade and like their cheaper depth.

As bad as Parnell as been at times he has been no where near as bad as Beadles. At least Parnell has had good games and flashes but Beatles was just horrible. We shall see

First you want TC to force Dave to dump Parnell, now you don't think he's all that bad?

Which is it?

?????? You come to wierd conclusions from peoples posts. Where did I ever say force Dave to do anything? Cyp has had a few good games as well but do I want to keep him? No. Dave moved on from Beadles because he was horrible. As bad as Parnell was in some games he had some good games as well. Definitely a position I would like to. Would like to upgrade to a player who is more consistent and better in the run game.

You said it in the post below.

If you didn't mean "hopefully Tom trumps Dave's retaining Parnell"  then what exactly did you mean?

I think RT will by higher on the list for Tom than it is Dave. If we do happen to luck out and get Wagner I think it start and come from Tom more less than Dave. Kind of like the coaches we have hired

OK.

So you're a little bit "on the fence" about Parnell I take it?   I am.

I'd only want to move on from him if a clear upgrade is added.

It will be interesting to see how aggressive they are in FA along the O-Line.

Sorry 'bout that.

Just be sure you don't conjure any memories of Drayton Florence, Jerry Porter, Sean Considine, Matt Turk or Aaron Ross. That may really upset you.

One of Marrone's first quotes after beating the Titans was singling out how well Parnell had been playing the last few weeks, for whatever that's worth.

The guards are the major concern right now. Parnell is serviceable and can be assisted with a TE chip at worst

How could you possibly leave Hugh Douglass off of this illustrious list?

Because he isn't sadistic?

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
