Chip Kelly interviewing as OC

(This post was last modified: 01-16-2017, 04:46 PM by Jamies_fried_chicken.)

Quote:literally the same thing was said when we hired Olsen.... and Blake and the offense had a great year in 2015.
Blake struggled because Olsen wanted him to work with the receivers in this past offseason instead of his mechanics.

Hackett wanted Bortles to work on his footwork/arm

This all came from Blake himself.

This all just tells me we are serious on offense and expect either Fournette or Cook at 4

I do think more RPO plays would help Blake a ton though. Just remains to be seen how it works in practice.

You know what beats a big ego? An even bigger ego. So with Papa Tom running things, ol' Chip will fall in line.

Quote:It's a misleading stat since SF was behind in all if not most of those games and kapernick had a chunk of those QB runs.

Gabbert started a very large chunk of games dude...

If you want to sit here and hate everything Chip ok, but hes a brilliant offensive mind and brings great running games everywhere he goes. Its a great chance to take.

Is their risk? Yeah. But this forum has been hating on Hackett for how long and now we get a guy like Chip rumored to be our guy and we complain some more. No matter what this team does its bad.

Hopefully we don't see repeats of this...

Chip Kelly went into #Jaguars[Image: NFL_Season_2016_JAX.png] OC job interview believing he was going get an offer. Has some assistant hires ready. Good chance it happens.

OCs hire offensive staffs? I believe that he had hires in place for the HC possibilities...

Except TC and Chip are buddies and have been for a while. Not to mention this is an ideal situation as far as weapons for Chip to get his name viewed highly again.

Generally yes, they bring in coaches who will teach the scheme they plan on running.

Hopefully we don't see any posters in the Jaguars forum who gave us their word they wouldn't be posting here.... Because after all, integrity is sometimes all we have.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

TC wanted to hire Chip way back before he was HC at Oregon. They have had a relationship for a long while.

Kapernick started 11 games and had over 400 yards rushing.

I'm not hating on Kelly, I just don't think his offensive philosophy works here.

Considering he interviewed for HC and is now coming back for OC, he probably feels pretty confident he'll get an offer.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him be hired before the day is over

Nothing wrong with having concerns about who's going to be the OC.

Coughlin offered Kelly a quality control position in 2006 in which Kelly declined. That's about it. I saw nothing of them being buddies or best of friends.
