Chip Kelly interviewing as OC

Quote:Kapernick started 11 games and had over 400 yards rushing.

I'm not hating on Kelly, I just don't think his offensive philosophy works here.
So because Kaepernick got 400 yards rushing his running game wasn't as good as it shows?

Blake fits his offense to a tee. We always see and hear how Blake likes going fast and he's MUCH better in uptempo and fast offenses.

I agree.

Obviously I'd hope it works out but oh baby if it doesn't there will be sparks flying from every corner.

Bortles seems like a match made in heaven for Chip. Chip loves those out of the pocket QB who have unique ways of doing things.

If you want to sit here and hate everything Chip ok, but hes a brilliant offensive mind and brings great running games everywhere he goes. Its a great chance to take.

Is their risk? Yeah. But this forum has been hating on Hackett for how long and now we get a guy like Chip rumored to be our guy and we complain some more. No matter what this team does its bad.

Coughlin offered Kelly a quality control position in 2006 in which Kelly declined. That's about it. I saw nothing of them being buddies or best of friends.

Saw the same thing where he rebuffed Gruden as well.

I don't see this best friend illusion as well.

Ok, well considering TC and Marrone now reached out to him and he's the favorite for the job, I'd imagine there's a mutual connection and like/respect for one another. I don't know these guys personally so who the hell knows until they talk about the hire if it happens. But it sure sounds like they go back for a while and know each other.

Why else would TC offer a gig to Chip before he blew up/was highly viewed like that? He must have kept track of him.

Quote:Except TC and Chip are buddies and have been for a while. Not to mention this is an ideal situation as far as weapons for Chip to get his name viewed highly again.

TC, Jerry Jones (like him or not,) and Jimmy Johnson are legends of the league.

Chip doesn't even belong in the league.

I would have HATED Kelly for anything other than what he's being offered now.

As strictly an OC with no control? What is not to like? Seriously...he has no personnel control. He doesn't control both sides. He has to resurrect his career here if he wants another HC gig, etc.

That has ZERO to do with my reply to you.

You said that those two didn't get along so TC and Chip won't get along. I don't think an OC and the VP of Football Operations are going to be butting heads too much...if they do Chip will be out very quickly.

Other than the the big run Kapernick had late in the game at Arizona where I think the score was close or tied most of his or the team rushes have come in garbage time.

Kelly's offense is predicted on timing and Blake's mechanics has to get fixed first and should be the larger priority.

Careful, You're adding nothing of value to the discussion.

Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

I have no problem being critical with who we hire, but it seems regardless of who is rumored/hired here it's met with a ton of complaints/"this guy sucks". Doesn't even matter who it is, there will be constant criticism. Just annoying to see.

"Anybody but Hackett.."

Jaguars are rumored to be interviewing and likely hiring Chip Kelly.

"This guys a joke, PLEASE NO!!"

The guy has had two HC gigs, had good success with Nick Foles at QB before dealing him and him flaming out. Went to SF with no talent and had a top 5 rushing offense. Yet he's just a terrible possibility to strictly run our offense (when he has succeeded for the most part in this role, whereas his personnel moves are what has screwed him over).

Instead of remarks of constant complaining/the world is ending?

It goes both ways. None of these guys have worked a minute together/coaches a game and we're sharpening our pitchforks.
