Chad Kelly

I'm curious why nobody's talking about him as a top qb out this draft? He is my 2nd favorite behind only Watson.. I believe he can be a sleeper in this draft.. He has good accuracy, good footwork, good arm strength, guts, and he is polished from playing in the gauntlet SEC... His only knock is he takes a lot of chances, and can be inconsistent accurately throwing at times.... Keep your eyes out for him ..

Yup, I can see coughlin drafting him in 2nd to 5th round. Coughlin likes to draft a qb unlike the previous scarey-cat regimes.
Tore his ACL at the end of season. He really likes the Marijuana.
Not quite the hothead he was but did rush the field of his brothers high school game after his brother took a late hit. On the field his is a great prospect...off the field big risk. Quote:Tore his ACL at the end of season. He really likes the Marijuana. He is one of those guys that would have been a bit of a project at the NFL level. Lots of talent and a live arm. Probably would have gone late round one or early round 2 before the injury and off field incidents. He has too much talent at a premium position to slide too far. He will probably go in round 3-5 but depending where, could be a nice little jar on the shelf for us.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Seems like a bonehead off the field but for a 5th rounder I wouldn't be upset

Hes had problems in the oast but kept his nose clean for a little while till that weed pic after his ACL tear. The HS game incident and his interview about him bringing "swag" to the field are such overblown issues imo.
He wasn't that good pre-injury.
He's also kind of a head case... since he thought it'd be a cool idea to nickname himself "swag" kelly We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:He wasn't that good pre-injury. Lol wow didnt know that..

per DJ "This is really tough luck for Chad Kelly. He wasn't having a banner season but I thought he could've helped himself with a solid performance in a postseason all-star game," Jeremiah said. "I think his draft stock was mid-to-late round prior to this week, but I'll be surprised if he's anything other than a seventh-round pick after this unfortunate injury. Every NFL evaluator I've talked to viewed him as a backup at the next level. That was prior to this injury."
Quote:He wasn't that good pre-injury. I don't know if I agree with wasn't that good... Junior Year: 65% Completion 4042 yards 31TD/13Int with 106 rushes for 509 is pretty impressive in the SEC...with 55% 341 yards and 3 TD/0 Int against Champion Alabama. Senior Year: (9 Games) 62% 2758 Yards 19TD/9 Int and 80 rushes for 337 yards....with 63% 421 yards and 3TD/1 Int that was a hit while throwing again #1 D Alabama.... I don't know what you qualify as good... We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:I don't know if I agree with wasn't that good...Nice stats. Let's break down some of it though. On the whole it does look pretty good. @FSU 21/39 313 53.8 comp% 4TD 3INT @ARK 18/39 253 46.2 comp% 1TD 1INT @LSU 20/33 218 60 comp% 1TD 2INT but I'm just cherry picking the losses.... against the good teams... He played his best game ever probably VS Bama. I'll give him that... but even his JR year... he played well in losses and played like poo in wins. It just never looked like he was the next NFL kind of guy. I've been wrong about guys before. So if I turn out to be wrong on Swag Kelly, I'll be sure to eat my crow. But smart draftnik types seem to agree with me.
I remember the first half of that fsu game and he looked polished, to me... but then Dr.Jeckel came out the second half turning the ball over.. I thank him for that, help give my Noles the W... But I think with the right mentoring and coaching he could be pretty good.. I mean his uncle is Jim Kelly..
A lot of his turnovers were as flukey as his alabama tip drill TD.
He had a lot of tip catches for ints but also a lot of just throw it up and let the WRS bail him out. Another factor is that Ole Miss had no run game and very little Defense while he was there. He had to carry the team.
Johnny Manziel-esque.
Enough said.

Quote:Johnny Manziel-esque.Nah not close really. Manziel has legitimate substance dependency and doesnt at all care about football. Chad is an idiot but theyre not the same. Quote:Nah not close really. Manziel has legitimate substance dependency and doesnt at all care about football. Chad is an idiot but theyre not the same. Lack of judgement. Which is clearly an issue. Not exactly what you would want to see out of your potential face of the franchise.

Off the field issues. Spent a year at that famous JUCO college or whatever division it's in down in Alabama or wherever the hell it is because of said issues. And then he also blew his ACL out this past year. I don't trust him.
