Daniel Jeremiah's Top 50

#1

Hooker at 2 is interesting.  He says he's one of the best college safeties he's ever seen.  I agree he can be special and I think the whole tackling thing can be corrected.  I don't know about Lattimore, but any of the other top 5/6 guys on that list would be a homerun pick at #4 IMO.

The top CB has been all over the place, but Lattimore has definitely starting to pull ahead with a lot of the draftniks recently.

And Cam Robinson in the second.

We need to select Hooker, guys like him don't come around often.  The Jamal Adams types are easier to find IMO.

Fournette in the first and Can Robinson in the 2nd would be a dream draft for me. Sign Zeitler in FA and our run game will be one of the best in the AFC

This was an interesting list. If Hooker does great at his personal workout and at the combine he has to be a consideration for the Jaguars with the 4th pick. Allen is a great college player, but his skillset is similiar to Jackson and with Marks, Miller and Abry Jones this position is pretty deep. The dilemma for Coughlin and Caldwell may be on deciding between Hooker, Adams, Fournette or Cook. If Cyprien leaves in free agency, Adams would fill more of a need and I like what Jeremiah said about his intangibles. Coughlin seems to like big backs so he may prefer Fournette over Cook if they go in that direction. It will be very interesting to see how this turns out.

Looking at that top 50, we should def come away with great players with our first 2 and 3 picks.

Guys there after 35 are very good players, plus guys slip so our 3rd round pick could be one 1 of these guys too

My guess is still Garrett and Allen are gone along with a QB so we will choose either a safety or RB.

I think Allen will be there but I also think we pass up on him and take a different player

Can't believe all of Feeney, Pocic, and Nelson were left off the list...I would comfortably rather have Feeney than Cam Robinson.

It doesn't surprise me at all. Jeremiah is not exactly a wealth of knowledge when it comes to college football players. If you watched him last year, he came up with a pretty crazy list as well. Then the other guys on NFL Network made their list and he completely changed his next one, basically "piggybacking" what the other guys said. He's basically a parrot that copies what he hears and when he has to come up with his own analysis, he's way off base. Just watch, when he comes up with his next list, it'll look just like what the other guys have on their lists. It never fails.

Quenton Nelson might've been left off the list because he has chosen to return to school, according to Great Blue North Draft Report.

I've been talking up Hooker a lot in the last few weeks while everyone else is on the Adams wagon.

"He has the best ball skills of any safety I've ever evaluated in college"

The Ed Reed comparisons are for real. I think many folks are overstating his tackling issues the same way people said Ngokuae was bad at stopping the run.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

The more I read up on Allen, the more he looks like a rich man's Tyson Alualu.

Pass.

Yannick is bad against the run.

If they do draft Hooker, what will they do with Gipson? He had a disappointing season, but will the organization be willing to just let him go after paying him all that money?

Pass.
Well Allen is an elite run defender who can play on a few spots on the Dline and provide good pass rushing from them all. He's Malik Jackson but far more polished than Malik was coming out, better run defender too. Very few holes if any in his game.
