Tom Brady GOAT

#41

Quote:Tom has been saying that, its nothing new.

Tom has been saying what he wants to do. It is all just words up to this point. Now there is a report stating a contract extension is expected. That is not just words anymore, and therefore news to a lot of people.

Quote:Tom Brady obviously did a great job moving the ball, but inability to score and a passer rating under 70 before halftime deserve some consideration.
That's why the game is 60 minutes. The Pats usually start slowly in the Super Bowl, so this isn't new.

By the end of this game Brady threw for 466 yards, 2 scores, with a rating of 95. I don't even know what his second half rating had to have been, but that's when it counts. Also, nearly 200 yards passing in the 4th quarter alone. There is nothing left to be said but GOAT. He lit their world on fire the last 20 minutes of that game.

Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

Yeah what a shocker...after a season of ratings dropping the league-created "bad boy" vs Roger happens to make the largest comeback in SB history...and force the 1st ever OT in SB history...and the Falcons happen to completely collapse after out-coaching and out-playing the Pats in EVERY facet for 3 quarters...I mean really, they checked every box. Hit Tom early? Establish the run? Get a lead so the D can pin back their ears and focus on swing plays?

Which team winning would garner more emotion and thus clicks and thus $? The widely despised Patriots. Transparent. I'm not a conspiracy guy but I saw the writing on the wall even in the 3rd. Peyton "happens" to win in his swan song season and then this Brady vs Roger nonsense.

Apparently the NFL didnt learn from the MLB in overtaking them as Americas sport. Retired baseball players admitting to corruption caused the popularity to plummet.

I'm not saying the Bowl was corrupt, but wow what convenient storylines for the $ bottom line. Suspicious to say the most, disappointing to say the least.

And the whole Brady's mom thing was oddly invasive and reeked of attention/sympathy mongering. "We'll paint him as the heel, but we'll humanize him through relatable suffering so that when he wins you feel guilty to question the circumstances."

As Skeet said, (bad word) the Patriots, and anyone silly enough to not see the $ behind this. Sickening.

Dumbest post ever. Falcons didn't play for 60 minutes. They thought they had it in the bag, and when they realized what was happening, Brady had the ball and they couldn't do anything but sit back and watch.

Falcons became spectator in the 4th and OT, they didn't have the mental fortitude to overcome what was going on

But at the same time, that whole comeback felt so scripted

That's the greatest game I have ever watched. The probabilities in that game stacked against them in the first half to win it in the second half were astronomically out of their favor. First time a team has even come back to win a game after being down by 19 points in the first half out of 93 games. Before last night. Teams were 93 - 0. First time a Superbowl game went into overtime. That was the most impressive statistic walking away from that game. I don't think we'll ever see anything like this again in our lifetimes. What Brady and Belicheck did last night is one for the ages. Without any doubt in my mind. Those two are the greatest to ever do it at their jobs in this profession.

Quote:He's still got some real zip on the ball though - as evidenced by those longer out routes and come-backs on the opposing hashmarks.

He can go for another 5 years or so if he wants. Apparently his diet and continuous workout regimen is very strict and obviously conducive to a long and fruitful career.
Glock has never understood what arm strength is. Its not just about how far you can throw a ball

That handshake between Brady and Goodell could have seared a frozen steak.

Do you ever think to yourself....hmmm..."I'd be willing to take a warning just to tell a person how stupid they really are"

But then you just let it go and let it slide....again.

Yes he's the goat and there is no argument anymore. Well....some will argue anyway

Brady is the GOAT, but man Edelman (sp) could have made a case for MVP of that game. What a catch!

Where is that 93 games coming from? Is it 93 playoff games or what?

Don't forget about this epic playoff comeback:

Yeah,,,,

That Julian Edelman catch was totally part of the scripted plan.

Cmon now.

No doubt he's the greatest after last night.

We were discussing as they rolled into the locker room about how well NE makes halftime adjustments.

They have been doing this so well, for so long.

One of the things overlooked about Brady is what he's done re: restructuring to help keep it all together over the years.

"You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud."

Agreed. Love him or hate him, Tom Brady is GOAT.

I went on Twitter at halftime and everyone was trashing Tom Brady.  I mean the negative GOAT comments all over the place.

One half of football changed everyone's opinions.....funny how people can let one half change their entire opinion on a player.

Falcons defense was on the field far too long, not only for the second half but for the entire game.  When Atlanta scored...it was quickly.  All of New England's drives, even the non-scoring variety, were time-consuming.  The announcers called it, but it was also obvious, the Falcons' defense was gassed by the 4th quarter.  Couple that with questionable (and ultra-conservative) offensive play calling and it was a recipe for disaster.  The Falcons should have kept the pedal to the metal, and it cost them.

And, as far as his Manning mention, what a crock.  Manning did nothing all game, that was the Denver D that won that game.

Falcons defense played 92 snaps. They had nothing left.

Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Came up during the game in the second half. I think that's in general. I still think last night's game tops the Buffalo come back over Houston considering it was a Superbowl.
