Political Brainwashing Super Bowl Commercials

Of course there are, I work with one. That doesn't mean they are statistically much less likely to choose engineering careers.

Quote:The best was when she sang a Communist writers lyrics.

You would think that. Raggedy maggot infested Guthrie wanting to claim everyone else's property and disguising it as a catchy folk song. Even named for one of the worst Presidents we've ever had. Could'a left that whole section out of the show.

Again you missed my point. I am far from a communist and absolutely hate taking from others such as eminent domain. I mean I loved how all the people missed the subtle jabs she gave and pretended like Lady Gaga took some high road.

I'm sad there are no more Budweiser Clydesdale commercials. Those were always the best.

It's notable that none of the political ads were even good.

One of the best, IMO, was The Walking Dead.

only one I really had a problem with was the lumber one.  I thought the other ones were tastefully done.  My stance on immigration is to do it legally, don't break in, do it the right way.

Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17
2016 draft players I think will be good

I don't have a problem with this at all either.

I never have a problem with commercials though. They're just commercials. If you really wanna spend millions of dollars for a political one, go ahead. I wouldn't do it but I also don't have millions to throw around.

Quote:I was a little shocked by the 84 Lumber commercial romanticizing, what appeared to be, a journey and illegal entry across the border by a mother and her young daughter. Of course they want you to hit up their website to see the ending, which I won't do. What they conveniently omit are the human traffickers who commonly prey on people like this. The rapes, murders, kidnappings, and extortions are inconsequential when there's lumber to sell and a big meany president to taunt.

I had the same reaction but I didn't see it on TV I missed it. I saw it on the web and so it ends with the mother and daughter staring at this gigantic wall. The little girl pulls out a flag she's made our or scrap on the journey. The mother on verge of giving up hope sees a light coming through the wall and then they discover a giant wood door opened slightly. They walk through the door and it reads something like hard work or endurance is always welcome here.

I thought about what the message could mean, I heard someone on the radio give a summary saying the door was legal immigration and it was saying hard work and persistence is always welcomed that's why we build doors in the wall.

I think it was piss poor advertising since I have no idea what message they where trying to sell but it was effective in making me think about it?

Hasn't changed how I feel about lumber 84 frankly I have no feelings about them. They sell lumber to contractors I'm not a conteactor.

I don't know I get some of the advertising was political in nature, I didn't see anything to get bothered by. I really liked the were on for four years of bad hair by the shampoo company that made me laugh. And the Buick cam Newton commerical was my favorite.

May have been the thought process. Apparently the head of 84 Lumber is a conservative Trump supporter.
